Dear Patrick, It certainly sounds like our B & B room didn't work for you and your wife - I am so sorry you found the stairs up to the bathroom difficult and that the street noise bothered you. I included photos of the stairs in the photos I provided for the Expedia Group web-site. On the bathroom photos I wrote "bathroom on mezzanine floor" so that those looking for somewhere to stay could think "bathroom upstairs - not for me". However I have just looked at the wording of the photos on Expedia and I see it has been changed to "free wifi and bedsheets" which is not very helpful. I will contact Expedia asking them to use the wording I provided when I sent the photos. To avoid these situations for future trips I suggest you read Trip Advisor comments before booking - focussing on the negative comments will probably save you time and bring to light issues that might negatively impact your stay.As to the noise levels I think you found your room noisy because you live in a very quiet area - our street is not noisy by Italian standards. I could have given you ear plugs if you had made me aware that street noise was a problem for you. I hope you managed to enjoy your time in Florence despite the set-backs of stairs and noise and that you returned to Canada with great memories of your trip.Kind regardsGianna & Giovanni

Bahri, again we apologize for not being aware of your booking and I am very disappointed that the hotel room I found for you was not of a satisfactory standard despite the hotel having a 3-star rating. I think the e-mail with your booking must have been inadvertently cancelled before we registered your booking. Bookings come with confirmation codes which don't seem to have any real meaning as we obviously did not fill in the confirmation code and you do not seem to have been aware that you're booking had not been confirmed. I also don't understand how it was possible for someone else to have booked for the night of 2 May about 9 days later as the nights booked are automatically closed to further bookings. We usually communicate. with our guests before their arrival to ascertain their ETA and whether or not they have any special dietary requirements. In our 23 years of operation we have had at least 1300 bookings and yours is the second over-booking, so the system functions at least 99.8% of the time. Obviously not of much interest to you as you have experienced the 0.2% failure rate but I think it is fair to say that the booking system is reliable.Again please accept our apologies and we hope the rest of your holiday was enjoyable.Kind regardsGianna
