Great house
Such a comfortable place to stay! Fully stocked kitchen, big rooms with comfortable beds and linens. Everything is clean and the appliances are new. Sweet welcome gift of pastries and water. Quiet neighborhood. Easy to access and property host was very responsive.

Great place for pups
Great remodeled older home with huge fenced in back yard in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend. 4 paws and a tail up!

Close to Fair Hill
We were competing at an equine event at the Fair Hill NWR stabling area. This adorable house was perfect for our group of five adults and so close to the stabling area. Very clean, really comfy beds, and lovely hosts who were great with communication and organization. Highly recommend!

Most calm environment
The place was cozy and the house with its fenced yard and the community around was absolutely calm. We had work in Delaware... it was quite close and access to shopping and most centers in Delaware. Suited our family and dog very well. The icing on the cake was the large fenced backyard.. our dog loved it... ;-) Thank you very much...

Just what we needed!
We were in town for a dog show. The house and yard were so comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. The house was well equipped for our needs and the yard was fabulous for us and our dogs! Previous guests had not picked up all their dog’s waste in the yard, but we tried to leave it cleaner than we found it!

Beautiful quiet home
We enjoyed our stay. Property is clean and has supplies you would need. Kitchen has refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes and microwave. Large backyard. Host was very communicative and helpful. Check in was easy. I would definitely recommend.

Convenient Getaway
This was the perfect property for us. It was in a private country setting but was convenient to shopping, restaurants, and things to do. We enjoyed the nearby parks for hiking and disc golf. We missed one of the biggest assets of this location was that it was pet freindly with a large fence in back yard! We certainly plan to come back for anothervisit. and bring our dog. We highly reccommend this as a great place to stay!

Our Home Away From Home
We're doing a long-term stay at this little home, and we love it! It's cozy and clean. The large yard is amazing for our kids to explore. The furniture is beautiful and comfortable. Betsy is very responsive and so kind! I have nothing but good to say about our stay here. I highly recommend!

Second Visit
This is our second stay. We and the dogs love the fenced in yard and proximity to Fair Hill. Betsy is a wonderful host. If I could give a "6" for cleanliness I would.

Pleasantly Surprised
We came to the area for trout fishing at White Clay Creek Park which was beautiful but too high for fishing. A disastrous breakfast at the Spork brought us to Fair Hills NRA. What a fantastic place. Horses everywhere, a covered bridge, fishing, hiking, everything we could ask for. The house was a great refuge at the end of each day; sitting on the porch, or in front of the fire to relax. It was clean, spacious, and welcoming. Thanks to Betsy for hosting us and we look forward to a return visit.

Country Setting
Lovely place to be! Close to college town of Newark, DE, day trip to Maryland eastern shore, and Amish countryside in southern Pennsylvania. It was quite an enjoyable week.

Perfect for what we needed
A group of us were in town for a friends funeral and this was a great place to come back to and just be together afterwards. Lovely area to hang out and just spend time together inside on a cold winter day. Thank you to Beth and her family for providing exactly what we needed during a hard weekend.

Great place near Newark!
This place was great for our needs! We were visiting family in Newark for the holidays and it was so close to their house. It was the perfect size for our family of three. I will caution that the furnace and water softener system are pretty loud, so if you are there in the winter, you might want to be aware of that. We got used to it over the course of our stay. Otherwise, clean, recently redone on the inside and just a lovely place! Will definitely plan to stay there in the future!

Cute house near to the cities
This house was exactly what we were looking for for our visit to see friends. It was close enough to Wilmington, DE for easy travel but far enough away from the crowds which is what we love for our vacations. The house was well taken care of and the backyard was gorgeous.

Our dog loved it
The property is an older home that has been added onto resulting in an unusual floor plan. It recently has been refurbished with a new bathroom (there is only one) and kitchen. It is located near a large equestrian complex, as indicated in the description, and is in a rural area 15-30 minutes away from most services. There is a large fenced backyard that was perfect for our dog. There were only three of us, so the single bathroom was not that big of a limitation. The property was perfect for visiting our family in the area--comfortable and well equipped. We expect to use it again.

Perfect for a horse related getaway
This house was the perfect place to stay with friends during the Maryland 5 star at Fairhill International. Clean, spacious three bedroom home conveniently located 5 minutes from the horse park. We did not have horses with us, but it would be the perfect place to stay with your equine friend.. Betsy was easy to communicate with and the house was well represented in the listing, except the bedrooms were larger than we anticipated and the beds quite comfortable! It was also super convenient to have a dryer to dry our soaking wet clothes from the storm. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Family visit 2
This was our second stay this year. The house has a cozy farmhouse feel and the location is great for visiting all of our family. Our pup loves the large fenced yard. We'll be back again!

This was my second time staying at this property and it was just as good as the first! Very clean, cozy setting. You have neighbors, but there is plenty of privacy. Plenty of room outside to roam for pets, children, etc.

This property was perfect for our family!! My dad, who is 90, came to visit for the first time in two years. The home was easy for him to move around. Betsy was wonderful to communicate with. The home was very clean and nicely decorated. Would highly recommend!

Elkton Stay
My friends and I were staying here for the last few days of our travel assignment. While the property was clean, we noticed the ant traps throughout the home and a note from Betsy stating she noted the problem and that she would call the exterminator the next day. To my knowledge, there was no follow-up to this, and my friend woke up with ants on him in his bed in the middle of the night. Also noted in Betsy's notebook (she leaves to communicate w/ guests) was a note from 6/5 stating there was an ant problem yet almost 2 months later it was not taken care of. We also had a very unprofessional encounter with Betsy when she was on the property looking into the windows/front door. When she was greeted at the door she was shaking w/ anger yelling asking why there were pets and asking where I was and demanding to speak w/ me immediately. I work in the hospital and wasn't available, and the guest shared on the listing was the one at the property. When I reached out to Betsy to ask what the issue was, she said that our dogs have to stay outside 24/7 in her yard (which has holes in the fence) and in crates & demanded an extra pet fee. The pet fee was paid as she did not charge it to us w/ the initial booking, and I expressed to her that keeping the dogs outside in this heat and in an unsecured yard is a safety issue and is cruel. I feel this situation was handled inappropriately and unprofessionally and nowhere in the listing is there an expectation for animals to stay outside. If you plan to book at Betsy's, know she will come to the property and interact with you (as every single encounter in her guest book states), so consider that especially with the importance of covid and social distancing. Unfortunately, due to the ants and the inappropriate behavior of the host, I cannot confidently recommend this property.

The perfect place to unwind!
I had a wonderful stay here. The house was just what I was hoping for. It was spacious, well appointed, nicely furnished, and the big fenced in back yard was great to relax in with my dog. Betsy’s property has really nice character and furnishings, without being too “precious”, in that it was comfortable and relaxing to be in. Betsy was a terrific host!
