The Lighthouse
We had an incredible stay at this rental property and exceeded our expectations. The house so cool and conveniently located by nearby towns including Hyannis. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

A lovely and perfect stay!
We had a wonderful stay for our family gathering! The home is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous grounds and ample space for our group of 14. Kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to prepare meals properly for a large group. Owner was welcoming and accessible. Very well located - the beach pass is awesome and you can also easily bike to the beach or even walk, plus walk to ice cream etc. Highly recommend and would love to come back some day!

Great Family Week
My sister and I and our families spent the week in this home and had a wonderful. It was spacious (enough room for 11 of us to spread out comfortably). We enjoyed the property, both inside and outside. Nice location near a great ice cream shop and a short drive to the beach.

Magical Home Stay
We had a wonderful summer vacation at this beautiful home close to the beach with a heated pool also. The house was spotless and had well situated sleeping areas for our various family members. All of us enjoyed many hours in the pool. The areas villages were fun to explore and the Ice Cream shop and General Store were a big hit especially with the kids. Would definitely recommend this special place to stay!

Family holiday off-season at the Cape
This property is beautiful and nicely situated in Barnstable. Short walk to Craigsville Beach, nice playground only a block, even the Library and General store. Kitchen has most everything you'd need as far as pots/pans. Nice spaces inside with updated bathrooms. Note that the exposed beams mean that the sound travels up to 2nd floor (if you have kiddies sleeping, keep the noise down in kitchen area!). Host was very responsive to questions and minor issues. I recommend!

Very good could be handicap accessible no ramps only stairs. No railings to hold on stairs. Scary for this old disabled soldier. Enjoyed but pool impossible no railing. Fell front stairs no railing. We are always afterthoughts!!

It was perfect for our 8 adults and 3 children. The pool was a big hit and we had plenty of room to be together, many private nooks for some quiet down time. The owner lives near by and was available if needed. Definitely do it again!!

Family of 10 vacation
My family of ten and I stayed in here for two weeks for our annual summer trip. The house is lovely and spacious. The setting and location could not be better. However, there were a few issues regarding amenities that I feel at this price range should be addressed. When my family’s check into the house there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms nor soap. We went out and purchased both. Jim called and expressed his embarrassment, wasn’t a big deal but for the price of this rental that should not have happened. The listing stated it could host 15 people, we had 10 and only one person could shower at a time. The water would become freezing cold if two people showered. That was super frustrating with 5 children all needing to get ready for bed. There was a hole on the deck from the previous guests which was quite a hazard with the kids. We blocked it off with chairs, but then we had to chairs to sit around the pool. My father-in-law was reading down by the pond and the chair he was sitting in fell apart completely.All of the beach gear they provided was old and falling apart, the pillows on the couches had stains. I found a broken tea kettle under the sink. I got the sense that the owner has not been at the house in some time. If he had a presence he would see that there are things that need repairing and replacing. Again the house is beautiful but for the price you pay some updated amenities are needed.

Fantastic Family Vacation
Amazing 7 nights for our family reunion. Group included 6 kids ages 5-10 who lived in the pool, loved campfires, the rope swing, frog sighting and the strong wifi for Minecraft. Property was amazing. We cooked up a storm, and had plenty of space for everyone to fan out, sleep and gather. Easy walk to the beach, easier drive. Candy store 1 block away got heavy action. Owner very helpful - ordered a new remote fo the tv and responded to questions during our stay.

Spacious Cape Cod home with amazing pool and grounds
What an amazing home in which to celebrate a milestone birthday with family from Ohio and New York! The grounds are stunning - we loved the view of the pond and the stunning hydrangea during our July visit. The weather was perfect for swimming. We spent a lot of time in the pool with a mix of teenage and young children. We enjoyed the small town Cape Cod charm on our walks and day trips to nearby beaches. House was spacious enough for everyone to spread out when needed. Wonderful kitchen and outside dining for family meals. The tower was amazing! Host was very responsive during our stay when needed. We had a wonderful stay!

Quintessential New England
The location of this lovely large home is spot on! Our family enjoyed cooking in the newly remodeled kitchen and our grandchildren swam day and night. There is plenty of room to sit outside and enjoy the spectacular landscape and mature trees. The beach is close by and the Country Store brings back memories for the adults. We even enjoyed the Centerville Fourth of July parade! There are many great restaurants and lots of quaint shops. We really enjoyed our yearly family vacation!

Fabulous property
Thank you for a fabulous 10 days in this great property which has everything from beach towels and umbrellas to kitchen aid and coffee machine. The garden was beautiful and the whole place felt like an oasis of calm in the centre of the Cape. A perfect location just a few minutes walk from a fabulous beach and all facilities within 10 minutes drive. Perfect location for a family holiday.

Bunco Blast!
Our ladies' Bunco Group of 12 enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this VRBO property. The host's instructions were clear and comprehensive. We walked to lovely nearby beaches and cute shops. We were able to sit comfortably at the table, the outdoor table, the kitchen area and the living room.

Fantastic House for Reunion of Old-ish Highschool Friends
We loved this house. It was in a beautiful location - the lawn and pond were beautiful and peaceful. The house had everything you could need and plenty of space for folks to socialize or get away for a quiet moment. Communication with owners was easy and fast. We would absolutely stay in the house again or recommend it to others!

Perfect for our group
We rented the house for the week during the festivities surrounding a family wedding. It really added to our experience and pleasure. We had plenty of room for our large group whose numbers expanded and contracted as the week progressed. We made use of the pool, the large deck, the bar at the top of the "Crow's Nest", and even the rope swing in the back yard. It was a great place and we highly recommend it.

Wonderful week!
Just spent a wonderful week at this house. There were 6 adults, 4 children and 1 infant - plenty of room for all! The pool, the pond, the landscape, the size and layout of the rooms, the access to stores, shopping, and other parts of the Cape made it a perfect place for us. Plenty of equipment/towels for beach trips and grateful for the washer/dryer. Enjoyed Craigshead beach, Sandy Neck, and Lighthouse beach at Chatham (no lifeguards there).Recommend Daily Mail, Crisp, and Amie Bakery! We all enjoyed the walking to the Country Store, especially the children! Highly recommend this property. Note: arrival on Saturday means crossing the Sagamore Bridge - go as early as possible, lots of traffic!!!

Wonderful vacation
Incredible home with lots of history. Plenty of spacious rooms and spaces to chill. With 6 adults and 5 kids everyone could do their own thing. Kids mostly spent time in the pool. Owner was gracious and available to us if needed. A really wonderful getaway. Would definitely recommend.

Great size for a large group - each family had their own accommodations which worked well for our kids that had infants. The pool was a great plus. We were a little disappointed there was no high chair and corn hole as stated in the description. Jim (host) was easy to get a hold of and handled any issues that came up. Overall, we had a great stay (wish the weather cooperated more!)

Great house in great and historic location.
Eight days for 10 family members. Beautiful grounds with lilly pads. Windmill tower and pool were fun for kids. Great kitchen with everything. Good and peaceful place to work. Lots to do in Cape Cod. Highly recommend.

The home is unique & beautiful. The property & landscaping was gorgeous. We had a really fun & special week. The top of windmill was such a hit. We used the pool a lot. The home truly is magical just like the description. The property is up kept so nicely and the owner was incredibly responsive and accommodating the entire weekend. We are already talking about a returned trip for next year! You don't want to miss out!

Wonderful getaway!
We had such a lovely time at this great house. It was everything that was described and it immediately felt like home. We rent houses a few times a year and sometimes you can tell a lot from the description - the warmth in describing how things will be provided and to help yourself to items in the kitchen (and they provide EXCELLENT coffee!) really translated into how we felt staying at the property. We had everything we needed and the location was great - so many restaurants and downtown Hyannis within minutes. Also, we could walk 3 minutes to a nice playground, 5 minutes to a cute general store, and 10 minutes to ice cream (we had 3 sets of tiny feet, probably closer to 7 minutes if just adults). Even the backyard was great fun for the kids and adults - everyone loved the rope swing! We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice, very clean, and superbly located rental.

First class and unique
Beautiful, luxury home that will be the perfect spot to host large families and gatherings. The lighthouse tower with a bar was a fun spot for pre dinner cocktails. Also a short bike ride to multiple beaches. Our favorite was Dowses in Osterville.

Beautiful landscaping, home not for us
This property would be great for a family with children. The landscaping and location are beautiful and the daily church bells were an added surprise — so lovely! — but the home wasn’t fully what we expected. My husband and I were looking for a bit more luxury for our wedding anniversary. I perhaps made some assumptions that I should not have. The bones of the home and the decor are beautiful but the cleanliness could have been improved. The kitchen had uneaten grapes and food crumbs on the floor and the linens in the master bedroom and bath were stained requiring us to remake the bed and find items a bit more acceptable from the storage closet. We used our own towels for the duration and had brought our own pillows. The house is large so I understand cleaning is an undertaking but I was very taken aback by the stained sheets and towels. The home could definitely use some updating and I am sure some “end of season” items were coming into play. Most of the screen doors were ripped, one quite severely. There were several moths we had to chase out upon our arrival. The TVs did not function as described and there were only two remotes for the entire house. Only one tv was usable our entire stay. There are also cameras monitoring the front doors which I get, but they’re inside, not listed in the listing, and from having the same kind, they can be remote accessed so just be aware as they’re by the master and “second master” rooms. I understand a host wouldn’t activate them with guests there but it was still weird when I’ve seen them posted in other listings. We did not use the pool or any room besides two of the bathrooms, the master, kitchen (didn’t cook) and living room. As I told James, we did not stay for the TV but expected details from the listing to be accurate which they were not. Overall we enjoyed our stay once we could try to see past the stains, but we will likely not be back. James did try to help resolve our issues, but it was clear he was managing from afar and was perhaps not on the same page with what the cleaning crew did/did not do in certain areas. Some of the technological troubleshooting provided was just not accurate based on the actual tools in the home. I am sure larger families with children will continue to enjoy this home.

Beautiful and spacious
Beautiful property. Wonderful house with plenty of room. House was very clean and had everything we needed to get away and stay in. Unfortunately didn’t have the chance to use the pool but with such a unique layout of the property and the house it would have been be a great addition to our weekend of staying in. There’s plenty of unique space to both share and hang on your own or in smaller groups. Working with property owners was easy and very pleasant.

Magic Kingdom
Not only was the property all as promised and all as represented in the many positive reviews but was also wonderfully wound in the history of the estate and village. Between the windmill, the pond, the gardens and the giant backyard there was no shortage of entertainment on the property, not to mention the comfort and beauty of the house itself and the surrounding history of Centerville village. The only problem we had is that we couldn’t stay for the entire summer. Jim was a terrific host and we are looking forward to visiting again. Thanks Jim

Great house for a family getaway!
This property is spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. We booked the home for our father’s 75th birthday. Our party of 7 adults and 5 children fit comfortably; we had lots of room to spread out. We enjoyed great weather for a Veteran’s Day weekend and took full advantage of walking to the general store and playing football in the backyard. We had a slight issue as we were leaving, and Jim was responsive and friendly. I’d definitely recommend staying at this property.

Walking distance to Beach, Ice Cream, and Catholic Church
This accommodation worked very well for our large group, with bedrooms on three levels and an extra air mattress we placed in the turret room. The location, size and setting allowed plenty of room in multiple side rooms in the house and porch spaces in both front and back of the house for our large group to very comfortably disperse to. Well stocked with linens and amenities and located close to the beach, this accommodation allows an easy, comfortable stay.

Wedding Weekend
Immaculate property with plenty of room/rooms to house a large gathering. Jim was a pleasure to work with and allowed us early entry so that we could attend the wedding festivities in the afternoon. The view from the windmill "lemonade bar" was beautiful, the pool was refreshing, landscaping made a great backdrop for the groomsmens photographs and we even had time to grill some steaks on the oversized porch. Can't wait to come back and spend some more time there.
