Thank you for this message Donnelle! We pride ourselves in the quality of our cuisine and the variety we offer to guests, so I'm sorry to see you felt limited in your options. We offer over a dozen small dishes and another dozen mains daily, including items for vegetarians and vegans. Currently, we rotate half of the menu every day, and offer a special soup and dinner every evening so that guests always see something new when dining. If there was something in particular that you felt limited your options I'd be very curious to hear what it was so that we can factor that in for the future! Hopefully if you stay with us again the only reason to repeat a dish was because you loved it so much you just had to have it again.

We are delighted that you enjoyed the food, and are proud to serve high quality ingredients and an original, varied menu. The beach is public property and some local vendors from the neighbouring village pass by. They are no more than 7-10 people in total, all of whom are very friendly. Usually a polite but firm no and an explanation in Spanish to one of them is enough to ensure a day’s peace. However we have spoken to all of them to remind them to keep the sales pitch light, and have implemented a flag system so that guests can signal non verbally if they wish to be left alone. Plenty of guests enjoy the interaction with local people. Each to their own! If you book on our website then the boat transfers are included. If you book on Expedia we pay a commission (even if you get lots of points) and so the deal is not as good as coming direct. Logical if you think about it. Tamara, your nightly rate was $230 USD which is significantly less expensive than most of the Caribbean and Central America. We are not embarrassed at all to charge what we do, which allows us to pay above minimum wage to absolutely everyone on our team, and operate a business which buys ethically produced products from suppliers who also pay fair wages. We are located on an island, so absolutely everything has the added cost of getting here by boat - including guests and staff. Anyone travelling should know that “cheap” countries are usually cheap because of labour costs. Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a world where waitstaff and housekeepers from Colombia earn well enough to take foreign holidays to Europe and the USA? That’s where we would like to get to. Expect our prices to be rising gradually until we are there.
