Nice hotel with terrible management. My reservation was prepaid through Expedia. Upon check in I paid to upgrade, paid local taxes, and placed a hold of incidentals. The next morning I received a fraud alert from AMEX, the hotel tried to charge an additional 687 Euros, even though nothing was owed. Meanwhile the hotel and calling my room and put a note under my door to come to the desk asap. Once there, it was clear they made a mistake but would never admit it. I asked why they are making unanuthorized charges - no explanation or apology. The next night at dinner with friends, the hotel manager calls my cell to ask what happened. He clearly called without doing his research. Again, he said I owed no money and had no explanation or apology for the charge. My room key expired after the first night, and there was a welcome note bottle of cheap red in my room for another guest. The property owners would be well advised to rebrand this hotel with a better known international brand with a well trained and honest management team. Honestly and Professionalism is critical for a would be 5 Star Hotel. Also, no Expedia VIP Perk.
