Hotel was dreary. Stayed for 2 nights and room was not made up on second day. Had to request clean towels. And for some reason, all the towels were damp. Food in restaurant was mediocre. Staff not attentive. Huge disappointment!

Fantastic hotel, if you get the right room
Was a nice hotel, but the room wasn’t as described in hotels.com information. There was no furnished terrace, or deep soak bath in the deluxe room. The room we were given, 112, smelled very damp and disturbed my sleep. In addition, there was no double bed, just 2 singles pushed together and made up as a double. The bed was also too short for me, due to the footboard - I’m approx 5’8” tall. On mentioning my concerns to the manager the next day though, we were upgraded to a luxury room, which did have the bathtub and the furnished terrace, and smelled better. The bed was bigger and thus more comfortable, thus I give good marks for service. Breakfast was exceptionally good.

We spent two nights at this beautiful heritage hotel, I loved the old fashioned brass padlocks on the doors. Our room was spacious, beautiful and clean, but a little dark and the blinds could not be opened. As the room opened onto an open baloney road noise could be hear thought out the night. I was told at check in that our room had been up-graded, however we booked and received a deluxe Room, so at the loss on that one. Restaurant was overpriced and food unappealing. At breakfast waiting an age for 2 omelettes to be made, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. On our second night we were given the bill after ordering 1 after dinner drink which made us feel most unwelcome. The hotel hosted a wedding during our stay, which detracted from the traditional Indian dance show by the pool on the first night and prevented us from using the pool or sleeping on the second night due to load music and fireworks. When we mentioned this to the staff on check out she just smiled at us.

Stayed at the Grand Imperial in August, the staff was very welcoming especially Mamta at the front desk who was very helpful. The rooms were clean and very specious with decor representing the time the building was built in the early 1900’s and distinctly maintains its charm. Staying here you feel like one is experiencing history, The front lawn is of a good size and feels intimate, the swimming pool is clean and a good to relax after wandering around the city. The hotel also hosts a puppet show by local artists and provides complimentary mehendi (henna) by a friendly lady named Sabiya. The breakfast is great with a good selection of Indian and continental options but the restaurant though good is a little pricy. The hotel doesn’t have a gym and the roof is accessible and you can see the Taj Mahal. Me and my family greatly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

A heritage stay in agra
In the middle of Agra, this heritage hotel from the early 20th Century gives you peace of mind, whether going to the Taj Mahal or visiting Agra Fort ir city. Incredible service, you can have a dive at the pool or a visit st the spa. Every room has a bed with a canopy, very nice pre Independence bathroom, and matching furniture. It’s like going back in time. Highly recommended.

Beautiful historic hotel needing a few details
Beautiful grounds and historical hotel. Hot water and shower didn't work. Bathroom lights didn't work. But loved the place if those things are fixed.

Devansh the general Manager was so charming enthusiastic and helpful. He was like Dev from the Marigold Hotel on speed. Area is noisy but once inside a complete oasis of calm. Wonderful period hotel with great history so don’t miss the experience. 10 minutes from the Taj Mahal

Best service in Agra
The staff have been amazing on all my 5 days of my stay . But they have to change few things in their rooms. If you are allergyc then is not your hotel. rooms are very dry and moldy in bathroom. The room are frash painted and the rooms service is very focused to help you.

I highly recommend you stay at the Grand Imperial in Agra. I felt transported back in time with the architecture and beautiful garden. We got a deluxe room which was spacious and nicely decorated. At night, there was a puppet show, henna artist, and folk music. The dinner buffet featured live musicians (who were teaching guests how to play some of the instruments) and delicious North Indian dishes. They also had freshly made garlic naan brought to your table. If you're looking to treat yourself to a hotel with character, stay at the Grand Imperial. (Only thing is they say the entertainment at night is "complimentary," but the performers and artists may try to pressure you to buy their products or give money.)

It was a very frustrating experience because of the extremely loud music being played at a wedding that was being hosted in the hotel premises. Hotel was great, but they should not be renting out rooms while they are also hosting a wedding. We were so disappointed that the hotel service had simply no option to control the loud music.

El hotel es muy agradable y las habitaciones que dan a la piscina son muy bonitas. La zona de la piscina es tremendamente agradable y la comida del restaurante esta muy rica. A excepción del problema que tuvimos en la entrada, la estancia fue muy buena. A nuestra llegada habían perdido nuestra reserva y encima estaban llenos, tuvimos que irnos una noche a otro hotel y al principio fue muy desagradable porque no hacían mucho por solucionar el problema diciendo que ellos no habían recibido nuestro dinero y tuvimos que ser nosotros los que nos pusiéramos en contacto con expedia. Para lo cual tuvimos que esperar 4 horas que abrieran las oficinas, aunque una vez contactado expedía se solucionó todo. Nos pidieron mil disculpas y la tercera noche Noam dieron una habitación mejor para compensar lo sucedido.

A lovely raj-inspired hotel. We loved its heritage ambiance. Helpful, friendly staff who organised our local travel arrangements and were always on hand to assist with inquiries. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and the room service and restaurant food was absolutely delicious. Definitely book here - it's central to everything but a lovely oasis of calm in busy Agra.

could not go sleep as was not by the hotel staff that there was a function going on in their hotel and we could not sleep the whole night. People were fighting outside the hotel disrupting our stay and other people staying at the hotel.

Great hotel room but services could be better.
Traveling around India we were in need of a bit rest and relaxation and something a little more luxurious so when a good deal popped up on Expedia for this hotel we took the opportunity and booked. Agra is a mishmash of a city so I couldn’t say that any hotel is particularly well located but this one isn’t too bad. The room was fantastic - very large with a separate sitting area. It was also very well sound proofed at the front which is a good thing as it is a very noisy area next to a main road. Fine in the room, irritating in the nice gardens. There was also a wedding at the hotel on night until early in the morning - check before you book if you value your sleep. The main negatives for us were that the spa and restaurant were very expensive - virtually Western prices - and the food wasn’t that great really. Breakfast was fine but nowhere near as good as some of our other hotels. Mostly the staff were nice but the day we checked out they were overbearing in their insistence for us to write a review - they were more intent on getting us online than they were dealing with a few issues that we had. The hotel has all the makings of a 5 star place place but lacks any of the professionalism and refinements you’d expect.

We stayed over New Years Eve. NEVER DO THAT.
We were charged for a Mandatory (???) dinner on New Year’s Eve at $100/adult, which doubled the cost of the room, and were going to be charged for kids, but we got out of that. We were assured that, since the kids can’t stay up to midnight, we would not be bothered by the music. They were wrong. We did not sleep all night because LOUD music was blaring from both sides of the room, as if the bands were inside our bed. I understand hotels need to make money, but this was a disgusting way to take advantage of people by making them pay for a dinner and take part in an event they did not want to pay for. I thought that, since this was an upscale establishment, I would not be taken advantage of, but I was. Do not stay here on Christmas or New Year’s Eve, unless you really do want to party all night. Dissatisfied.

What a great hotel. But the bed was extremely uncomfortable (two mattresses put together, a pain to sleep in the middle), and spa staff approach me constantly to sell their overpriced treatments. Breakfast was good, dinner was only ok. Also, the view from my room was disastrous (see picture). Location is also not optimal for Agra.

few issues with service, but rooms are really nice
The phone number in the confirmation email turbed iut to be from a different hotel. Hence, thr pick up from the train station brought us to the wrong place. Check in was nice, room very big and stylish. We had problems at early morning check out when the credit card machine did not work which they could not resolve. They only had a (really lovely) crib for small babies who can't turn which was a bit of a problem for our 13 months old.

Room is heritage one and very good. Staffs are friendly and helpful but people in Lobby are sometimes smileless. You'll find beautiful green parrots and cute monkeys in front yard. Back yard has swim pool but we didn't try it.

Charming hotel close to Taj Mahal
Charming spacious room with high ceilings, fans and air-conditioning kept us cool and double wooden doors shut out the 42 degree heat. Back doors opened onto pool area. Restaurant offered buffet and a la carte. A sitar player entertained the evening crowd. An oasis 15 minutes drive from Taj Mahal. Would love to return. (Deep bath so this room is not for the mobility impaired.)

Heritage hotel with charm
Very nice hotel with very friendly personnel; when giving your food order in the restaurant make sure that they write it down, some misunderstandings can occur. SPA recommended for quality of massages. The pool is nice but chairs and table could be cleaner.

Arnaque! Le pire de notre séjour.
En arrivant, personnel mielleux... On me propose un surclassement en suite pour 2000 roupies par nuit et me demande de payer d'avance les 2 nuits. C'est la première fois, je ne me méfie pas et me laisse tenter. Mais la suite sent le renfermé et les égouts, la propreté n'est pas au rendez vous et la salle de bain aurait vraiment besoin d'être rénovée. Suite à 7500 roupies bien trop cher vis à vis de la prestation proposée. Mais le pire arrive; une cérémonie de mariage est installée dans le jardin de l'hôtel. Ceux qui connaissent les mariage Indiens comprendrons vite que c'est une nuit blanche assurée! Le personnel encore plus mielleux me propose de me transférer dans un palace 5 étoiles pour se faire pardonner... Nous acceptons et migrons vers un hôtel qui s'avère fantôme (aucun client) et insalubre. Le Orient Taj qui est actuellement bradé à 3000 roupies la nuit. Voilà donc la plus belle arnaque de mon séjour en Inde.
