Property is under new management and premises are undergoing refurbishment. The room we had was excellent but no restaurant and no bar . Very few staff but the staff available very helpful. Half hotel refurb done but long way to go.

Going through renovations when we stayed so imagine things will be different very soon. The staff was top notch and the location is perfect with many options for food and drinks in walking distance.

Booked the hotel online after seeing some lovely pictures we was meant to have a king exec suite with a balcony so the pictures showed at a cost of £185 we got a tiny room no view curtains as yellow as sponge Bob as they probably haven’t been washed in years dead flies on the window seal the bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly as it was rubbing the tiles in the bathroom was dirty and loose all in all terrible

Weekend stay to visit family.
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and had everything needed in room. Room next to road but no traffic so mainly quiet. Had to keep curtains shut due to people walking past. Brief noise in evening from people having been out and coming back and /or getting cars. Most rooms are away from the road though.

Aggressive staff
Absolutely disgusting service, the staff swore at us and we left the hotel at 10:30pm. There is no restaurant facility and there is construction work whis is not advertised anywhere. The staff are rude and aggressive. Lisa should not be allowed to work in customer service. Ruined my anniversary and i wouldn't recommend anyone atay here.

Beautiful Location
This is the 3rd time we've stayed at the Dolphin, twice at Wedding Receptions which were amazing and this time for an overnight meetup with friends. It is in the process of having extensive alterations but this hasn't in any way affected the smooth running, or cleanliness of this Hotel. Lovely location. Friendly staff. Would recommend it to anyone.

Great view
Had a great stay. Room was basic but clean with a great view. Close to a town with great shops. Overall a good stay and would book again.

1 member of staff (Lisa) was rude and unprofessional and ruined the stay. The other staff were good. Very little food options for evening meal was disappointing so we had to go into town to eat. Breakfast was good though.

Very scruffy, only 3 choices on menu. Toilet broken in first room we went to. Major works going on which is not mentioned on the website

Nice hotel and excellent location but currently undergoing refurbishment so not all facilities open. However room was nice and clean and staff very helpful.

We had an amazing weekend. Some of the hotel needs updated but this had been started before COVID. The outside area by the river was beautiful although the weather did help! St Ives was a beautiful village and I will definitely go there again

Hotel was quiet and very clean and comfortable. Parking was free onsite. Excellent position for visiting St Ives as the town centre was just across the pedestrian only bridge that was next to the hotel.

Fair, but not good.
The location of this hotel was amazing and the views onto the river and meadows was one I took full advantage of. Restaurants close by. The hotel however; it seemed like an old 90’s nightclub conversion. Very box like. The rooms we clean enough. The double bed get short. At 6ft my feet went over the end. A silly lip coming out of the bathroom that made me stumble a few times. The shower took 5 min to warm up And a silly one, but when going to the bathroom at night, the light is on a sensor so completely woke me up! Breakfast was from 8am - as a business worker, this was not good. The ladies in the bar were great however. Lovely personalities and fun Overall, it was fair. If the location was different, I don’t think I would have like it. I would still stay again due to the location.

Needs attention
I don’t normally review hotels, however after this one night stay I can’t help but leave one for other potential customers to see. One word “AVOID “. I travel a lot for work. Ok so positives are, nice location with a lovely garden on the river. The hotel is close to the town centre if want a wonder or bite to eat. The room was spacious and clean. Plenty of parking. However the downfall of this place is there doesn’t seem to be enough staff. I waited for 20 minutes for breakfast in the bar area, no one to be seen. I gave up in the end. The bathroom light in the room was on a very strange sensor. Halfway through using the toilet or shower in the morning the lights went off. There was no hairdryer in the room. It took 3 attempts to go to reception as nobody was about. No bell or way of contact. I was told they would drop hairdryer to room, 20 mins later still no hairdryer. I ended up cancelling breakfast and checking out with damp hair! It reminded me of something off faulty towers. The hotel seems to be under construction at the moment. Shame it could be a great place with more staff and attention to detail for customer service. I would not recommend it and certainly won’t be checking in again.

When I booked the picture of the more expensive room I paid for was not like it was in person. There was no seating on the balcony which was shown in the picture and the shower was not very powerful Whole place is very dated and also I asked for extra towels and none was left.. I paid for a late check out at 1pm and right outside our balocony there was a man cutting grass which we were hoping for a lie in

Would not stay again. £70 for a night is a joke
Rooms were not clean, beds not comfy and hotel is in pretty bad repair all round. No blinds or curtains on windows in my room so I was awake at 5:00am at the crack of dawn. No restaurant or breakfast. Thankfully I was awake early enough to be stood outside greggs when they opened.
