"This is the second time we have stayed here and once again, it was great. This property very well appointed and well maintained. It is a short walk to Main St. La Veta, which is very nice. Sitting on the deck in the afternoon, with the sun and the Cuchara River is very relaxing. It is a great choice!"

"We spent our time at Cuchara Park and this home was the perfect location for us. The Host goes above and beyond here. I highly recommend this place - I will still hear next time we come through La Veta. The house has everything you need! Perfect for a man like me who loves chopping wood and having fires. The inside had a big kitchen for the wives. The rooms have tons of board games for the kids. You will love this place; I know we did."

"This makes the third time we have stayed here since last August…and we already have a month long stay booked for this Fall. We’ve fallen in love with this property and it never disappoints. The scenery is beautiful, the cabin is fantastic, and Ray (the owner) is incredibly responsive and helpful. Definitely our favorite place to stay and well worth the trip from Texas!"

"we stayed on this property in July 2023. We had two couples and one individual. This property was cramped and not clean, and also very dark downstairs. The beds t downstairs were very uncomfortable. Bathroom downstairs very small. The cook wear was very old. I actually found mouse droppings in the crockpot that I was hoping to use. Mouse traps several places. Towels very old and raggedy. The upstairs was roomy, comfy bed, but had issues with the toilet flushing and no towels supplied up there....

"Everything was great. The cabin is in a great location, and you have access to a variety of parks, trails, etc. The cabin is clean and extremely well organized. We got hit by a mid-March snowstorm and got snowed in for a day, and Krista went out of her way to get us plowed out and provide information. Great overall experience and highly recommended!"

"The sights and sounds of the river is so relaxing. Since the bedrooms are upstairs, you feel like you are in a tree house! It was our second time to stay in Cuchara and we hope we can stay again since we got married in the Cuchara Chapel 44 years ago."

"We enjoyed staying at this comfortable, beautifully decorated home. It was super pet friendly, which we really appreciated. Just an FYI, even though La Veta is a small town this house is on main street, so any cars that were driving through were heard during the day, at night things were quiet."

"Place is pretty basic. Not enough counter space to cook. Oven very dirty. Need chairs in living room. No dish washing soap. Looks like a new owner that has just put in basic necessities. Fireplace was great although no matches or fire starter. Place was not prepared for cold weather."

"My wife and I were celebrating our first anniversary and chose this place. It was so awesome! Our host set out a romantic table setting with wine and a welcoming loaf of bread and jam. This is a truly special place and our host went out of their way to make it such a special experience. "I should have read the description more carefully. I’ve never stayed in a bed and breakfast before. Gaylene was lovely and very welcoming. But having a common room was unexpected for me. I wanted to watch a little tv but wasn’t comfortable going downstairs to the “living room” and there’s no tv in the rooms. But still a lovely place. "
