The Old Mill Apartments was built c.1880 as part of the Sligo, Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway.
The building was part of a railway complex, situated a short distance from the village of Dromahair, Co. Leitrim, and is a fine example of late nineteenth-century railway architecture. The building is listed on the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage, (whose purpose is to identify, record, and evaluate the post-1700 architectural heritage of Ireland for the inclusion of particular structures in their Record of Protected Structures (RPS)) and you can still see some of the original features such as the exposed wooden roof support beams to mention but a few. Looking from the front windows of the Apartment, you can see the original railway station, which is undergoing extensive renovation.
A stay at the Old Mill is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in some of Ireland’s most scenic countryside and rich heritage such as Parks castle a few miles away.
