This secluded, peaceful cabin is designed to provide comfort and convenience while keeping you close to nature and nearby attractions. Let our cabin serve as your perfect base for experiencing the wonders of the Black Hills.


The main floor features:
• A cozy queen bedroom (with a closet and a separate laundry area with a stacked washer and dryer)
• A full bathroom
• A spacious living area with tons of windows that flood the space with natural light
• A gas fireplace for chilly evenings
• A kitchen stocked with essentials and a dishwasher, counter that seats two, and a table that seats six
• A living area with a pullout queen couch


The spiral staircase leads to the loft, which includes:
• Another queen bedroom and full bathroom
• A spacious lounge space perfect for unwinding


Step outside through either set of sliding doors to the massive deck with:
• Ample outdoor seating for you to chat, read, sip your coffee, and have some meals
• A cozy gas fire table for stargazing nights
• A gas grill for BBQ enthusiasts


The cabin has modern amenities like air conditioning, WiFi, and smart televisions. Families will appreciate the provided highchair, pack-and-play, and games, books, and movies, ensuring everyone feels at home.

• 45 minutes to downtown Rapid City for dining and shopping
• 15 minutes to the Lake Pactola Marina and under 25 minutes to the Sheridan Lake Marina for water fun, fishing, and boat rentals
• 40 minutes to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial for iconic sights
• 40 minutes to Custer, with scenic drives leading to Custer State Park for wildlife sightings and adventures
• About an hour to Sturgis, Lead, and Deadwood
• An hour and a half to Badlands National Park
• Two hours to Devils Tower Monument


Our cabin is ideal for families, couples, or girls' getaways. (All-male, outdoors groups would find more suitable places elsewhere in the area.) We believe it's the perfect vacation spot if you're wanting to do and see everything, or to just simply be and do nothing at all but enjoy the hills, or to find a happy medium that works for you.


We are a family of five with three young children. We LOVE coming to the cabin and making our usual trips to Bear Country, Dinosaur Park, Reptile Gardens, Storybook Island, Custer Wildlife Loop, Badlands National Park, and more. We could fish and picnic at Lake Pactola every day and be happy! We enjoy mini golfing, gold panning, and going the adventure parks for alpine slides and tubing hills. If you're interested, we are happy to share our favorite restaurants in Rapid City and our go-to places for sweet treats like ice cream and giant cookies.


Our cabin has everything we need to feel comfortable and it’s all yours to use during your stay. Vienna Waits for You is more than a vacation rental—it’s our home away from home, and we’re delighted to share it with you. We look forward to hosting you at our cabin!


Note: Our cabin sits at the top of Edelweiss Mountain. The neighborhood itself--Edelweiss Mountain--is located off Highway 385 at the end of a 3-mile gravel road that takes you up into the Black Hills. From there, expect a true but manageable climb up one mile of paved, winding mountain roads to get to the cabin. Our small SUV does just fine. However, due to the sharp turn into the driveway, trailers are not allowed.
