This is a private cottage located in one of the prettiest parts of Volcano Village. This one bedroom cottage is perfect for honeymooners, a special anniversary, or as a writer or artist's retreat.

Enjoy natural beauty and incredible privacy. Step out the front door and into a quiet time and place. Stroll down the canopied lanes located less than a half-mile from the heart of the village or take in some of the many sights of the island easily accessible from here. We are just five minutes from the entrance to Volcanoes National Park.

Equipped with a kitchenette, private deck with garden views, an electric fireplace and free highspeed WIFI!

Your Volcano Village location puts you 40 minutes from Punaluā€™u Black Sand Beach, where you may see turtles nesting and swimming, one and a half hours from the City of Refuge, and only 40 minutes from historic and beautiful downtown Hilo with restaurants, shops, museums and nearby snorkeling beaches.

Amenities in the village include several diverse restaurants, 2 grocery stores, 2 gas stations, launderette, gift shops, art galleries, post office, a nearby local winery, 18-hole golf course and Sunday morning farmer's market.

This property is a hosted vacation rental in conformance with all local and state laws and in possession of all necessary permits and licenses.

Volcano Cottage

Lovely little cottage in the rainforest of Volcano. We enjoyed our stay, bed was comfortable, the small kitchen had enough for us to make simple meals, the porch off the back was delightful for sitting (when it wasn't raining). It's off a slightly bumpy dirt road, it's private, quiet, and peaceful. The living area had only one rocking chair (in addition to the dining chairs) so we read in bed. Convenient to the National Park.

I just loved how peaceful and quiet this place was. Listening to the birds and the rain was healing for the soul. The cottage is separated from nearby cottages by a few yards of rainforest, very private and cozy yet functional. Would definitely recommend this place if youā€™re looking to spend a day or two exploring the KÄ«lauea volcano and surrounding areas. Not a lot nearby in terms of restaurants, and the few that are there are very pricey - recommend grabbing groceries on the way there and preparing most meals in the kitchenette.

Incredible quiet get away

Cottage in the rain forest

We had a very good stay at Ferny Hollow cottage in Volcano. The cottage is cozy and vintage, and we were comfortable during our three day stay. Everything was tidy and clean, and there were nice touches like books about the Big Island, a CD player, good umbrellas, and extra linens/towels. Unfortunately, the cute electric fireplace was broken, but an electric space heater was provided and was adequate to help warm the place in the morning. We had one relatively minor problem after we checked in, we called Aubrey and she very quickly rectified it. We would stay here again.

Nice, cozy place. Kitchen looks well stocked for those who want to cook. Bed was comfortable. Be aware you are at elevation so it is cooler. We would have rated this five stars but the electric fireplace wasn't working so it was a little cool and everything was damp. They did provide a small area heater which helped some.

Peaceful location. You will be surrounded by the beautiful bird sounds from dawn till night. Comfy cottage. Plush bath towels. Drinking water was very good. Conveniently located to Volcanoes NP. Enjoyed our stay!

Charming lush rainforest garden setting

Starting with the one lane roads making your way through the rainforest to this lovely property to sitting on the back deck surrounded by greenery it felt magical. The cabin is small and cozy. Very convenient to Volcanoes National Park. Chillier nights were thwarted with the electric blanket. Perhaps a little tight on kitchen counter space but wasnā€™t a big problem. We would definitely return to stay here.

Cozy hideaway close to Volcano National Park

Stayed 3 nights in this tranquil little hideaway in the jungle. Hosts were very timely and responsive to any of our requests. One thing I would mention is that the photo of the cottage was taken from the back yard, so what you see when you get there does not look like the picture (you'll see a "Ferny Hollow" sign once you pull in). Close access to the park & had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Aubrey.

2 Night Stay

This private cottage is absolutely charming! It was a perfect 2-night stay for us. It was extremely clean and had everything we could possibly need. We appreciated the heated blanket on the bed, the towel warmer in the bathroom, and the fireplace as the nights can be quite chilly. It was really close to Volcanoes National Park which made early morning hiking a breeze. At night, we drove into the park for star gazing which was breathtaking! We were lucky to have such clear nights that we could see the Milky Way! It was even better than the expensive tour we did last time up on Mauna Kea.What an unforgettable stay! Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage with us!

This is a cool place in Volcano. The listing says Mountain View, but it is actually in Volcano. We almost didn't book it because nobody stays in Mountain View. Needless to say, we were happy with what we found. It is adorable, small, and cozy. When the volcano was erupting it was great. We also spent time hiking in the park. A good time was had by us both.

Perfect hideaway in paradise

Cosy cottage nestled in a lush rainforest with towering tree ferns, wild birds, frogs, and flowers. Absolutely relaxing and reconnection to earth/life.
