Welcome to Sundance! Located on 54 acres along the historic Shenandoah River, Sundance offers you a place to return to the simpler times in life.
Amenities include:

(The riverfront is solely for the use of our guests at Sundance and Walden, {VRBO#457061} Although Sundance and Walden share the riverfront, the two cabins are completely private from one anther.)

Beautiful place

Enjoyed modern comforts in a natural setting. Kitchen well equipped for meal prep. Indoors: Comfy living space, big shower, soft bed. Two huge ceiling fans and screen doors, so we mostly kept a/c off. Outdoors: huge tree top deck with Weber grill, bistro tables, and hot tub. Panoramic view of Massanutten mtn and sunset. Well kept landscaping, firepit, and river access. An easy 10 minute walk down the path, we found the sunny lawn and shaded picnic area right on the riverbank. Short drive to Luray for provisions and attractions, and convenient to Thornton Gap park entrance. Sundance cabin is worth the price and only a modest fee for our dog to live her best life. 10/10 would recommend.

Had a great time spending 5 days-4 nights at Sundance celebrating our 40th anniversary. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything you could need. We ate every meal on the deck because the view is fantastic and it's so calm and peaceful. Relaxed in the hot tub every evening after a day of walking down to the river or exploring the area. Bonus points for the chocolate chip cookies. Hope to stay here again in the future.

Great country cabin!

My children and I did an overnight since thereā€™s a lot to do in the area. The property is beautiful, and super private, without being completely in the middle of nowhere. The cabin is super cute, with everything you actually need. Best part is that the hot has amazing view. Definitely plan to stay here again!

Fantastic spot

The pictures and description honestly donā€™t do this property justice! Absolutely fantastic location with wonderful vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There was a pristine hot tub on the wrap around deck overlooking the mountains. The house was exactly as described and the owner responded promptly to all my messages and questions. I wish we had more time at this cabin and will definitely book it again next time we are in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Wonderful Stay!

The cabin was simple yet very cozy! We loved how private the area was! The views off the balcony were stunning! During the day you have a beautiful view of the mountains and at night the you had a beautiful view of the stars! We also loved how we could see the view while sitting in the hot tub. We even had a deer come and visit us! I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone! We had a very nice time!

Perfect!

"Sundance" was perfect for our long weekend with the dogs. The space was super clean and the view was fabulous! It was nice to walk down to the river and chill in hot tub to take in the mountain views and the sunset. The power went out for a little bit on one of the days were there, and the owners were very responsive. We can't wait to visit again!

A perfect relaxing retreat

My sister and I had a wonderful visit to the Sundance cabin. After spending the day at the Caverns and hiking it was a treat to come back to the spotless cabin and relax in the hot tub. The grounds were immaculate and beautiful to walk around in. We sat by the river for what seems like hours. We would highly recommend this home, the host and their other cabins we saw!

A real getaway spot

The views were beautiful. Of course, we tried out the hot tub and enjoyed it. As usual, we didn't cook in, with all the neat local spots to eat, but the kitchen was fully ready. We traveled with a pet, which was welcome on the property, and a big plus in our selection. If we return we will try to spend some time on the water, which looked pretty inviting.

Honeymoon for the books!

My wife and I stayed at Sundance for our honeymoon in June 2024. Everything was perfect from checkin to check out. We couldn't be more pleased with our stay and definitely plan to revisit as soon as we can. Highly recommend stays here!

National Park Getaway

We stayed 2 night in mid April.We spent 2 days hiking the park. The location of the property was perfect for proximity to the park. We were traveling with our dog and there was plenty of room for him to run around. Be sure to take a stroll down to the river (wonderful bonus)! The views and the deck canā€™t be beat. We spent most of the time outside on the deck and in the hot tub (which was such a treat post trail hikes). Itā€™s about 15 minutes to Luray where we grabbed dinner one night and hit the Hawksbill Brewery as well. Highly recommend this spot for a secluded getaway.

Nice location with a view

We have stayed at other Woodside properties and all are nicely outfitted, clean and in good locations. Temps were cold, but we missed the snow this time. Will be back.

Hoopers' Getaway

Secluded with a beautiful view of the valley at 781 feet up. Has everything you need to cook, decent portable stereo, tv. Reliable wifi. Lovely deck with hot tub. I will come back with my fishing pole in the summer to take advantage of the river access, a 1/2 mile walk from the cabin.
