Magnificent views and beautifully decorated, this newly listed vacation home is in a prime location!Ā  Featuring 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a very spacious living area, kitchen and dining area, game room with pool and darts, garage and great amenities!Ā  Located just minutes from Red Rock Golf course, 10 minutes southwest of Rapid City, 20 minutes from Mt. Rushmore and 30 minutes from Hill City, it's a very accessible location in the area!

Situated on a large lot with plenty of parking and 2 stalls of the garage available to renters.Ā  The 2nd level has the main living space with a full-service kitchen fullequipped with everything you need to prepare and enjoy meals!Ā  The living room has a beautiful rock fireplace, large picture windows and large Smart-TV.Ā  Dining room seats 6 people and the kitchen has a large center island with 4 more bar stools.Ā  There is a walk-out off the living area to the covered deck with gorgeous views, outdoor seating and a gas grill.
There are 2 spacious bedrooms and 2 full baths on the main level.Ā  The master bedroom is fabulous with a gas fireplace separating a comfy sitting area with flat screen TV and an ensuite master bath.Ā  The 2nd bedroom upstairs has beautiful queen-size 4-poster bed.

The lower level features a game room with a pool table, dart board, a counter area with bar stools and mini fridge.Ā  The lower level bedroom has a queen bed and sofa sleeper, flat screen TV and there's a full-size bath downstairs.

The home sleeps 8 in bedsĀ  - max. capacity is 8.Ā  Garage use, good parking and paved roads make it an excellent choice if you are on motorcycles!

Wonderful stay in South Dakota

The location of this home was perfect for exploring nearby Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Bear Den, Storybook Island and so much more! Each day we saw deer and wild turkeys in the yard. One evening on the deck we experienced a beautiful full and bright double rainbow. The home was very clean and perfect for our 3 generation vacation.

Peaceful Perfection in the Hills!

Our family of four, along with my parents, had an absolutely perfect stay at Highland Hilltop Retreat! From the moment we arrived, we could feel this wasnā€™t just another vacation rental ā€“ it was thoughtfully prepared and truly felt like home. The house had all the necessities and more, but what really stood out was the fully stocked kitchen. It had every gadget, dish, and extra you could imagine ā€“ far beyond what you normally find in vacation homes. It made cooking meals together easy and enjoyable.The layout of the home gave everyone plenty of space to relax and unwind, and we never felt crowded. One of our favorite features was the wrap-around deck, where we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening chats while watching deer, wild turkeys, and other wildlife wander through the property daily. It was like our own private nature show.We couldnā€™t have asked for a better home base for exploring the Black Hills. Weā€™ll be recommending Highland Hilltop Retreat to anyone heading to South Dakotaā€”and we hope to return ourselves one day!

Beautiful home

This home had everything we needed for our stay. We were in town for our nephewā€™s graduation and the location was perfect. The game room was fun for the teenagers. The deck was my favorite spot for my morning coffee.

A comfortable stay

We enjoyed this lovely home in a residential neighborhood. We spent a great deal of time on the deck enjoying the beautiful weather, the fall colors, and the plethora of wildlife in the area. This home is also within driving distance of many interesting venues in the Black Hills area.You can rest assured that you will have a great vacation if you book this home.

Phenomenal Property, Perfect Location

Loved the peaceful, hillside location - peaceful and beautiful with wonderful wildlife visitors (sheep, deer, and turkeys). House is accommodating with great amenities. Great location allows easy access to all main South Dakota attractions. No hesitation at all recommending this property to anyone wanting to enjoy the beauty of the Black Hills and all that South Dakota has to offer.

Perfect for Our Trip

The house was a wonderful location, within 15 minutes to an hour from everything that we wanted to do (Bear Country, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer Park, Deadwood, Jewel Cave). It was also pretty close to downtown Rapid City. The house had all the amenities we needed, with tons of outdoor seating for coffee in the morning and dinner in the eveningā€¦ there is even the cutest waterfall. During our stay, we saw TONS of turkey, bunnies, and deer outside the house.

Black Hills family vacation

The home was beautiful and fit our family's needs perfectly. We saw deer and long horned sheep right out of the window! Beds were comfortable and everything was in working order. Regarding the description on the website and info provided, the website stated three queen beds, but the master had a king bed, which was great! I asked about the coffee machine specifically, and was sent a picture of a drip machine. There was a drip and a drip/Kuerig. I wish I had known that before bringing a Kuerig with us on a 13 hour drive. Also, there were no dish rags or towels in the kitchen. Overall, though, the place was beautiful and my sons really enjoyed the pool table. We'd definitely go back!

Buffalo Round up

Sibling get together for three days. There were 7 of us. We came mainly to go to the Custer buffalo round up but also spent an afternoon in Deadwood. We also did the hike up to Crazy Horse which was amazing! The house was in a quiet neighborhood with amazing views from the wraparound deck. In the evening it was so nice to come back to the house and hang out in the very comfortable living room. Kitchen was big and well stocked with a huge table for all to sit around. Thank you for making our stay memorable!

Prime location with beautiful views

We had three generations, seven people total, stay and it was a terrific experience. Communication was excellent and the home was very clean. The kitchen provided all of our needs for cooking. The location is prime for touring the northern and southern Black Hills. The view is spectacular and the patio furniture was an extra bonus for soaking up the beauty while enjoying our meals outdoors.

Great House & Location

This was our first time staying at a VRBO and we picked the perfect house to stay at. We had enough room for my adult children to have their own space and not be on top of each other. There was enough basic pots, pans, kitchen utensils and seasonings that people had left to be able to make food with. The view from the Deck was beautiful. We would spend a couple nights just talking on the deck and looking at the stars. We saw some interesting wildlife around too. If we come back out West, we would stay again. It was really nice to come back to a house to relax at night!

More than advertised - in a good way!

Great house! When reading the write up online, I wasnā€™t as impressed as I was once we checked in. The avail houses were limited so we took a chance. So glad we did! I recommend updating the info to include things like hair dryers avail, crock pot avail, large assortment of other kitchen items (incl kcup machine) etc. We ended up packing way more than we needed to bring because of unknown items. It would have been more relaxing if we hadnā€t packed so much! Would definitely choose to stay there again!!

Great Rapid City rental!

Great property. New owners obviously put a great deal of effort into making it a great VRBO. From kitchen to baths to games to TV to HVAC to grill it was top notch. If it had a hot tub that would be the icing on the cake, but otherwise was great. Deck furniture not quite what is needed - need some comfortable chairs and ottomans. But that is two very nit-pick observations from what is clearly the best VRBO house for renter I have had in nearly 20 years using the service. It is also clear the property manager is on the top of their game.
