Decent spot, but lacks hospitality.
The Sea Slug has a lot going for it: nice location, well-stocked kitchen, and a nice hot tub covered from the rain.
But for the price we paid, my wife and I were expecting a lot more. There were a bunch of things this listing could do better:
1. The carpet is pretty gross. We wouldn't let our newborn crawl on it without putting down a blanket. They have written on their to-do list to get it cleaned, but it looks like it's been funky for a long time.
2. The bed was really uncomfortable. Our backs hurt each morning after tossing and turning so much. Actually all the furniture in the place looks a little cheap and ratty. The red couch in the living room looks like it is suffering from chronic depression.
3. The record player is broken. They have a cool collection of records that cannot be played because the needle is broken on the record player.
4. DVD collection can only be watched in the guest room. Even though they have a nice collection of movies, the DVD player doesn't work with the TV in the living room.
5. This is one of those listings that charges a cleaning fee but has a 10 step check out process (yes that is TEN steps) that involves a lot of cleaning and even lugging the trash recepticle up to the curb for pick up on Mondays.
To summarize, we didn't hate it. But for the amount we paid we really expected a better experience. We suspect the corporatization of the listing and others in the company has caused a lack of human touch and care.
