Casa de HĆ³spedes HistĆ³rica em Destaque no Hgtv Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation!

This charming guest house sits behind a historical home in downtown Morehead City, NC. The main home was built on Shackleford Banks in 1885 and moved to its current location in 1901 by sail skiffs. The guest house was built between the 1920's and 1930's for the second owner of the main house's son. The property sits 2.5 blocks from a sandy public access to the intra coastal waterway!

In the summer of 2017, the home was featured to be a part of the Home and Garden Television show called, Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation. Filming began in the fall of 2017 and the guest house was featured as well! The show aired on May 5th, 2018 on HGTV from 10pm to 11pm. You can find the show by downloading HGTV app and searching for Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation, Episode 308, titled ā€œNorth Carolina Renewal.ā€

The fully furnished guest house has a living room and an eat-in kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, plates, cups, pots and pans and a coffee maker. The bedroom features a queen size bed and dresser and closet for you to store your belongings. The full bathroom offers a stand-up shower.

Amenities include linens, iron/ironing board, Keurig coffee maker, WIFI, street parking. NO smoking and NO pets. Television in the living room includes an Amazon Fire-stick. On street parking.

Big Rock Landing as well as shopping, restaurants and nightlife are all within walking distance. Morehead City Ferry Service is located within 3 blocks providing boat service to Carrot Island, Bird Shoal, Sand Dollar Island, and Sugarloaf Island. Also Beaufort, voted "Coolest Small Town" is only 3 miles away. If you are lucky, you will see wild horses just off Front Street on Carrot Island.

Historic guest house available for long term rent from mid October through mid April! Please inquire regarding discounted rental rates!

Pro:A really cute and cozy place in a quiet and convenient neighborhood five minutes from the beach. Cons: Visitors included several roaches and a rat and the AC has to blast all day to keep the place comfortable on the hottest days. The rat was a dealbreaker for a return visit.

Charming bungalow in a lovely section of Morehead City

This is a free-standing auxilliary unit in the backyard of a restored bungalow.Very charming. It is small, with one bedroom, and a couch that was comfortable to sleep on but does not open up into a bed, so it is really set up for a couple, or a single and a friend, rather than a family with children.The bathroom is new and the shower great. We loved the walkability of the historical downtown which is close by and the charming neighborhood. You can also walk to some excellent restaurants and shops. Atlantic Beach, Fort Macon, and minature golf are all accesible across a causeway close to where this property is. When you want the beach and sun you will have to drive over to it. We had a wonderful time and loved coming back to the quiet cottage after being out and about all day.

Great location.

Me and my brother went on a three day fishing trip and this place was perfect. The location was in a perfect spot in Morehead City. It was clean and the host was very accommodating to any needs I had. Will stay again next time I come down.

Beautiful Beach Retreat

I had a great stay at the house. Ideal location for those who want to be near the Morehead City waterfront with easy access via a short drive to Atlantic Beach as well. Owner provided all necessities for a great stay and also plenty of extras to make sure you have anything you could need to enjoy your stay.

Very sweet cottage

Cottage was very clean, and had everything you could need. It was only a few short blocks for restaurants and shopping. Owner was very quick to respond back to us with questions. Will most definitely return for more stays.

I felt very safe in this cottage tucked between houses and streets.It was very quiet.Morehead City is very easy to get around.Loved that their were real houseplants.The bed and sofa were very comfortable. Enjoyed the southern books!

The history alone is amazing, great location near Morehead water front. Do your homework and read about the Promise Land and how this neighborhood came about. The owner is very easy to communicate with and accessible. Great little getaway!

Cozy Guest Cottage

What a cute cozy cottage. Very well maintained and everything you need for a couple to stay. Great communication and all very well explained. The ONLY negative isā€¦ you need to know that in colder weather your only heat is space heaters. Since you donā€™t want to run them when youā€™re gone or sleeping šŸ˜“ it does keep it cool. Not so good when you have metal hardware in your back like me. If heat isnā€™t a concern I would highly recommend a stay.
