Beautiful downtown location. This room is located right in the middle of downtown. It is across the street from the world-famous Dixie Saloon and right by the Sheplers Ferry dock that takes you to Mackinaw Island. If you are looking for a place to stay, where you can walk to all the attractions, shops and restaurants, this is your place.

Photos were very misleading, you cannot see the bridge from this location. The one picture is of a restaurant down the street. One person can barely fit on the bed let alone two people. Window air conditioner was filthy and didn't keep the room very cold. TV was difficult to use, and everything was unplugged when we got there.

Location is ideal. Room was mostly as advertised. No info about how to operate the TV or the wi fi password in the room. Communication w proprietor was not great. Bathroom had no shower curtain. Beds comfy. Heating worked great. Didnā€™t try the AC. Frig clean and functional. Nice budget stay for an overnight en route to Mackinac Island.

This is a super cute little motel. Itā€™s right in the middle of downtown, so walking distance from everything! It was perfect and the host was very nice and helpful with questions and also responded in a great amount of time! Would recommend and would stay here again!

I'm not stating anything groundbreaking here.. this property is a place with a bed, toilet, and shower. When I walked in, after a long drive and arriving after 10pm that night, I go to flip the on the lights and the light switch doesn't work. The toilet seat in the bathroom was cracked in half. There were strands of a woman's hair left stuck to the shower walls. The shower was rusty and disgusting. There was an envelope asking for tips for the cleaning service of the hotel - what a joke. The only good thing about this place is the location is about as good as you could ask it to be if you're visting Mackinac Island. The hotel is within one block or a 90 second walk from the ferry entrance and there are a lot of restaurants and coffee shops very close by. This place is cheap for a reason. it's an extremely crappy hotel, but for a place to sleep it will get you by.

The bathroom is only problem. Shower was very difficult to use. Hardly any water pressure and could not control the temp. Toilet seat was cracked and pinched my leg. Would only stay for one night

This is a room and a bed in a cute motel facility, very close to downtown, Wawatam Park, and to Shepler's Ferry to Mackinac Island. Lousy water pressure, a finicky door lock, a broken toilet seat that pinches your leg and pulls hair, only one roll of TP, not great comms with mgt, no bathroom surface area,... yet LOCATION wins the day. Great location.

The property is dated and could use some minor updating. Easy changes like a new toilet seat & shower knobs. We also ran out of toliet paper... no backups. It is only 1 block from EVERYTHING. This made up for the little items that could be better. Check in was superb šŸ‘Œ

It was definitely a motel. There is no host on site to aid with check-in, we could not access the television, the toilet seat was broken, the clock wiring was broken and there was no convenient outlet to plug in a laptop which had to use as a television. When calling the phone number to the property (to inform them about our concerns) it went to a Days Inn on the other side of town. If you're looking for a place to just stop and drop, this motel is perfect. otherwise find somewhere else to stay.

Need more information on how the keypad works. Very little communication. When there was a problem, there was no communication until I contacted verbo. They had their maintenance person. Come out to fix the fact that there was no hot water. They did not let us know they were here did not fix the problem. And the people they brought with them sat outside of our room being very loud. Head to call back in the morning. End message to get the hot water fixed which did not get fixed before we left. The room was clean and nice. The bathroom had mold on the wall tiles, but there was no water pressure and no hot water. The TV there was no instructions on how to get that to work, so we're not able to use that. So basically it was a clean bed to sleep in

Great little stopover. Simple room, but ideal location for getting around in Mackinac City and to the ferry to go across to Mackinaw Island. Could leave our vehicle right at the VRBO and walk everywhere.

The property is a motel immediately behind the downtown area of mackinaw city. It is a VERY short walk to all the shopping and amenities you want, and was worth every penny. It is a block and a half from the shepler's ferry dock, so keep that in mind when picking your ferry if you plan to visit the island. The owner/operator is very responsive and we had a wonderful time. The beds were comfortable, and the heat AND A/C Work well.

I think this property owner has a few other places in town. When I looked online I was the same picture for a few other properties. The geo code puts you in the middle of the street. Over all the room was really nice and the property was well kept. The tv was small compared to most hotel rooms I have been it but it was not to bad. All in all if I had to I would not mind staying there again.

My husband and I checked in and immediately notice the TV was not working. Maintenance was unable to repair. The shower only allowed for 1 person to have a hot shower. Then the water was cold. The faucet handle was not working on the sink. The house keeper told us she has reported issues with no response and has stopped submitting issues. The location is fantastic! Very close to ferry and walking distance to shops etc. I would never stay again based on the above issues.

I used to be a VRBO host and there is no way that this listing is acceptable. It calls itself a "Boutique" Inn. It isn't even named "Apple Inn". It is a very old Motel that is in disrepair. They have redone the rooms to some extent, but there is mold in the shower tile and we didn't want to walk on the rugs without shoes. The office has a sign lit up as if someone is there, but no one ever comes. The door was ajar and there were loads of dirty linens stacked up everywhere. There is no one on site, no letter of greeting, etc. We were grateful to be able to bring our dog, but otherwise would have probably demanded a refund and found an alternative, because there were cute, clean small motels with vacancies nearby. They wrote about the room online as if it were "special", etc. But it is just one of 5 or so motel rooms. The location of this motel is wonderful-close to everything. It saddens me that someone doesn't buy it and turn it into a sweet little retreat. You can always tell when an owner does or doesn't care about their property. And if they don't care about it and are just making money in spite of it all because of it's location, that's up to them, but then the listing needs to be clear and honest. Instead, it was very misleading. That's what we took issue with. I will end with something positive. Housekeeping (which only comes before you stay) does know how to make a nice bed. I don't like to leave negative reviews and think long and hard before I am this honest.

It was a nice quiet little room just right for our overnight visit! Very close to downtown, all of the shopping and the ferry! We only had a couple of small complaints. When you first pull up looks can be deceiving because the outside appears very run down but the inside is very nice and recently remodeled! The only other complaints was the little blue light that flashed constantly from the Wi-Fi so we had to throw a pillow over it when we went to bed!

I booked 2 nights at the ā€˜Apple Blossomā€™ only to pull up to a run down motel called ā€˜Welcome Innā€™. Very misleading. Checked for bed bugs right away and found dead bed bugs and bed bug debris in between the mattresses, along with a blood stain on the mattress. Explained the situation to the property manager immediately via VRBO message, as there is no personnel on site. She said I could not have a refund and that was the end of the conversation. There was no way I could stay there with my daughter. I left and booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express. Do not stay here. It is completely disgusting, dirty and the property manager does not care about its guests.
