Star-lit skies and beautiful western sunsets are yours at Pinewood Cabin atop secluded Grassy Mountain. At an of 3900' and and prevailing winds from the NW naturally cool breezes keep the cabin comfortable even in the summer months. In the rare event we have warm spell air condition is available. Located 7/10 of a mile from the village of Little Switzerland, this comfortable, airy cabin sleeps 2 with two bathrooms. Master bedroom has a queen sized bedroom with private bath and a 40ā€ LCD high definition TV. Featuring a wood-burning fireplace wood not provided but available for sale for $65 for a 2 night supply. View amenities for info. Real knotty pine paneling, oak hardwood floors and a large NON JETTED tub for long romantic soaks. The entire house has vaulted ceilings. Find yourself taking in cool mountain air while relaxing in the deep-well Nordic hot tub. Featuring awesome views of the Black Mountain Range and Mt. Mitchell, highest peak east of the Mississippi. Organically grown vegetables available dependent on supply Disoounted payment options include cashiers check or personnel check. You can find alternate contact information at rickgonsorrentals The cabin has a 4night minimum on holiday weeks inlcluding Xnas New Years, the week of July 4th and the last 3 weeks of Oct unless their is a late cancellation. Peaceful, secluded, absolutely perfect. Has all of the modern amenities, wifi, TVs in living room and bedroom. I only mention those things cause they are there, but you will find yourself enjoying just sitting on the back porch, probably the most relaxing little cabin. 10/10

My husband and I had a lovely stay in Little Switzerland. It was great meeting the owner Rick at the post office because it would have been kinda tricky to find the house without an escort. The view and peaceful setting were spectacular. House is super clean and perfect for a couple. There were tons of nice fluffy towels and washcloths. I always hate it when there arenā€™t ample washcloths! The hot tub is very clean and we enjoyed it on our last night. For your planning purposes: I did not find coffee but there is a coffee pot. Walmart is about 5 miles away but it takes longer to get there than you would expect. I would bring snacks to enjoy with the bottle of wine Rick greets you with. I would also bring my own pillow as I prefer 2 and a cozy blanket for hanging out on the porch enjoying the sunrise and sunset. Highly recommend this property!

We booked this place for the view, as I imagine most do. The view is lovely and that is about all that was good. You have to plan out your check in day around meeting the host, which is odd as most places have a number code entry. He then takes you on an extended, unnecessary tour that wastes your precious time. On top of this, there was no water pressure when we arrive, back doors do not lock, and 2 of 4 heaters did not work. It was quite cold when we arrived as well. We contacted the host to come fix the water, which he tried to do but was unsuccessful. We did not want to spend our honeymoon evening with a stranger so we requested the water to be fixed the following day. We had our first evening ruined as we hiked all day and wanted to shower to head out for the evening, but we unable to do so. The drive to the house is not the most pleasant so do be aware. It is a very mountain style, one lane road. Due to the inconveniences we had our first night, we asked for a partial refund and have been denied by the host. Be catious with this property and contact VRBO immediately with concerns. Use the app to communicate as well, not his cell. Do note, there is a health and safety ticket against this property with VRBO as well.

The view from the deck was amazing. The cabin was perfect. We definitely want to visit again. We also thought it was neat that they provided the means to separate trash, recycling, and compost during our stay.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Pinewoods Cabin. The view was spectacular and the cabin had everything we needed to relax. Rick was easy to communicate with and available if anything came up. We loved the proximity of Little Switzerland and the Blueridge Parkway.

The house was nice and the views were beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub and there was plenty of towels and wash cloths. It was a very positive experience. We had to meet the person at the local post office and follow them to the house. Not a big deal but we first were not going to be arriving until late the first night and felt odd about having to do this so we took off earlier than planned. That being said, when we plan weekend get aways we want to be able to stop and go as we please. It may not have been a big deal for them to meet us late but I personally like being able to just receive a key or key code and arrive when we want.

My husband and I traveled here on our anniversary and this cabin was perfect! Very private with a great view! We absolutely love Little Switzerland and will keep this place on our list!! It was just as described ~ very clean and definitely comfortable!! Also centrally located to all we planned to do!! The only advice I have for the owners is to get better lighting in at least one of the bathrooms ~ while itā€™s awesome mood lighting itā€™s hard to see to get ready (especially for the ladies). I carried a lighted mirror with me so I managed! Thanks for a great vacation!!ā™„ļø

Gorgeous views from the deck of this property! We enjoyed being tucked in to the side of the mountain on a dead end road! The house had everything we needed and offered spectacular views both day and night! Rick was an excellent host and communicator. We really enjoyed the hot tub after hiking and exploring the area! We would definitely return!

Our stay was AMAZING. The location was PERFECT for getting away from the "noise" and stress of everyday life. The owner was helpful and made us feel at home. Beautiful back porch has the perfect view of the mountains. The house was neat and we had everything we needed. You will not regret staying here.

Had a wonderful time in the mountains. Unbelievable views from the rear deck. Cabin was all it was advertised to be and more. Rick was very helpful with our stay. Would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle of daily life. My wife and I hope to come back in the future.

This place has an incredible view. If there are no clouds or rain, the sunset is spectacular. Great fireplace. Private as well. For those really picky, there was plenty of hot water! The location is great. You are close to good shopping, Linville Caverns, Grandfather Mountain, and Linville Falls and Gorge. Would stay again.

My boyfriend and I celebrated my 29th birthday in Little Switzerland. I booked this cabin because of the view from the photos and it looked like a nice place to stay. Trust me neither disappointed, especially that view!

This cabin was all we hoped it would be and more! The road back in is a great little gravel road that twists and turns, but once you first drive it, you've got it and it is a breeze! Rick met us at the Post Office and we followed him to the house. So glad as we probably wouldn't have found it. It is totally private with a cozy living room with pretty stone fireplace, a dining area, and very workable kitchen, two bathrooms and a laundry room in one of them. The view is absolutely breathtaking from the large open deck. The mountains change with the time of the day and the weather and we could sit and watch them forever! The hot tub on the deck is a wonderful way to end the day gazing at the sunset and the mountains fading into the dark. The little town - population of approx. 50 people, is delightful as well. There is a general store, an amazing book store that goes on and on in a great little building with a super gift shop and coffee shop with lattes and baked goodies. The cafe has wonderful BBQ and slaw sandwiches as well as other choices and soups, etc. The Little Switzerland Inn has a great restaurant and there are some fun shops and a super icecream store there. It is right around corner from the general store and post office. The Blue Ridge Parkway goes right past the back of the house and you travel it to get most anywhere. The town of Spruce Pine is a short drive away with a super Walmart, drugstore, restaurants, etc. We played golf at the local golf course and that was beautiful. Don't miss Little Switzerland Orchard winery, ciders, and brewery just down the road. We tried all the different kinds of cider with their flights and took some growlers home with us. The maple/bacon is outstanding! Also stop at the Mineral Museum as it is very interesting. We hope to get back this way again as it truly was a magical stay. Thank you Rick!

Rick, met us and guided us to a perfect cabin getaway. The view from the back deck is breath taking. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars and seeing the mountains in the distance put one at ease. The interior has a charming feel. Enjoyed each evening with a fire with real fire place. If you want wood it is well worth asking Rick instead of packing in your own. The kitchen is very well equipped. If you need a break from everything this is the place you've been looking for. Thanks again. :)

This cabin is located ideally for accessing the Black Mountains / Mt. Mitchell area, but other NC mountain destinations are a reasonable drive away. Rick was a great host. He met us initially nearby to show us how to reach the property up the single track road and also how to use everything inside the cabin. He was very helpful and gave us great suggestions for things to do in the area. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed, including the hot tub on the deck, which was great after a day of hiking. We highly recommend this cabin for visitors to the NC mountains.

It was a piece of heaven in the mountains. Unfortunately for us, it rained almost every day so we had to wait until our last day to get a true picture of the majesty we were surrounded by. But when the sun came out we were awed by the views. The cabin itself is charming, clean and well appointed. The bed is comfy. The kitchen has everything you need. We loved our stay!

Rick was awesome from beginning to the end of our extended weekend stay. We were accomidated every step of the way, he even made sure my girlfriend had a floor fan available because we were on a motorcycle and could not bring one (she can't sleep without one). If you desire privacy and a gorgeous view this is the place for you! Clean, well appointed, and just a wonderful experience. You won't be dissapointed. It's our new annual vacation destination.
