The Parque Eduardo VII is a stunning 26-hectare public park that is ideal for a casual stroll, a sit down in the sunshine or a jog, and is one of the must-visit areas of the city. There is also a great restaurant here called Eleven and the Estufa Fria & Estufa Quente, which is a beautiful set of three large greenhouses showcasing over 300 species of plants. For a little culture, head to the Modern Art Centre at The Gulbenkian Foundation, which is home to a brilliant selection of art from Portuguese and international artists.
For food and drink, Pastelaria Versailles is known as one of the best cafes in Portugal, serving delicious pastries since 1922. Restaurante Fenicios is the first and best Lebanese restaurant in Lisbon, and for some local specialties, try Varanda Restaurant which boasts some tasty Portuguese dishes. Alternatively, for a tipple during the day, the Highview Bar is a brilliant rooftop bar on the 11th floor of the Holiday Inn Lisboa Hotel, with great views out over the city, though it shuts at 8pm.
