Well Appointed lovely home - however it is on the corner of a major road with a traffic light. The constant traffic and braking of heavy trucks made it difficult for sleeping.

Charming historic home on noisy road

This home is very lovely & clean, with a spacious backyard, neat historic elements, spot on decor and quality mattresses & pillows. It might not be a good fit if you are unsteady on your feet or a light sleeper--the tub is a bit tricky to navigate (there is a non-slip mat in the closet) and there are stairs and thresholds to be mindful of. There is a traffic light a few feet from the front porch on a very busy thoroughfare with 18-wheelers passing by at all hours. We did utilize the home's speaker system to play white noise overnight. There were no written instructions in the home, so we had several questions. The owner was always quick to respond, albeit her tone seemed defensive. It is a very quick drive to Longwood and conveniently located.

Girls trip after a wedding in the area we wanted to visit longwood gardens. I actually messed up my reservation and contacted the owner in a panick and she was able to accommodate us. Lovely property, clearly a designer and contractor team had remodeled this historic home.

April 2025 Weekend for Family Wedding at Winterthur

Overall the property was charming. The original flooring and renovations are very nice. The host was extremely responsive via the app which was much appreciated.I wish that Iā€™d given more thought to the reviews stating road noise had been a challenge. I did not think much of it having grown up on a main road and being a deep sleeper. This house is RIGHT next to the road (speed limit 45 mph) and at an intersection with a light. Itā€™s NOISY and some vehicles shook the house. My husband (who is a very light sleeper) had to stay at another VRBO with family.

We were very pleased with the appearance of the property. The property was decorated very well and contained many amenities to make the visit more comfortable. We especially appreciated the quality of the bedding. We did experience a couple of minor glitches, but these were very quickly and effectively resolved by the owner.

Owner had very good communication and listing was accurate. However, road is very busy and loud. Recommend bringing sound machines for better sleep. Could use deeper and better cleaning and upkeep, but it's fair.

Great house

The house was wonderful, kitchen well equipped. The only issue we had was the downstairs of the house was very, very cold. No matter how high we turned the heat only the upstairs got warmer. That was the only issue we had, everything else was great.

House was very nice. Close to Longwood and busy noisy road. I had trouble getting information because I did not download VRBO APP, also had trouble with door lock, instructions for door lock did not match the lock on the door. Owner was available and helpful. Beds are very comfortable. Nice place

It is a very beautiful rental, But . . .

My sisters and I were getting together to honor our recently deceased mother. Upon arriving at the house, we quickly realized that it had not been cleaned. Used towels were in the bathroom, all beds unmade and kitchen needing cleaning. I immediately called the host who was surprised that it hadn't been cleaned. She offered to pay for a hotel for the night, but we declined that offer and they said they would come over to clean it. 10 minutes later the hosts husband arrived (I presume so as he did not introduce himself). We agreed to leave the property while he cleaned up. We killed time in town and returned in one hour. He was nearly done when we returned. We had been charged a cleaning fee which I had paid in July when I booked the rental. I asked the host what he was going to do to compensate us for our inconvenience since it was 6:45pm when we were able to move in. The host became beligerant and said he wasn't planning to do anything more. He had cleaned the place and we should be satisfied. I reminded him that they offered to pay for a night in a hotel and didn't he think it would be a nice gesture to offer us something. Maybe deduct the cleaning fee? He angrily said that we should be grateful that he lived close by and was able to come and clean up. I was flabbergasted with his insensitive response. I asked that he speak to the host and get back to me. They never followed up. I would also note that the street traffic is very loud, bring ear plugs.

Beautiful home!

This by far was one of the most lovely homes we have stayed in! The owner did an excellent job designing and decorating each and every room. The kitchen was a joy to cook in with beautiful appliances, cutlery and dishes. The bedrooms were beautifully done with comfy, luxurious mattresses, bedding and pillows. The backyard was a great bonus, thoughtfully planned out for people's enjoyment with plenty of comfy chairs, table and grill. In my opinion, the owner went above and beyond with a great many luxurious touches throughout this home, making our family feel very pampered and comfortable, which we appreciated so much! I would highly recommend!

Beautiful house, cute neighborhood

The interior furnishings and comfort are amazing. Everything was impeccable, one of the nicest home stays Iā€™ve had. I appreciated all the thoughtful details such as the well equipped kitchen, lovely decor, and the outdoor seating. The comments about street noise are accurate. It did quiet down at night, no worse than a city street. Also taking a walk back into the historic neighborhood was very cool. Itā€™s a nice base to enjoy Kennett Square and the surrounding area!

Comfortable home base for exploring all the area has to offer.

The living areas in this home are clean and very nicely appointed for a group of 6 adults or a family. Plenty of room for the 6 of us to prepare meals together and dine indoors or outdoors in the private large backyard. The beds were very comfortable. Although there was one bathroom we had no trouble making it work easily. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare and serve meals. The home is located very conveniently close to the main attractions like Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, Brandywine Battlefield and wineries. Although the front of the house faces a main road, the neighborhood behind it is quiet and lovely for walking and talking in the beauty of the historic homes, beautiful trees and landscapes. As other reviewā€™s mentioned if youā€™re sensitive to traffic noise while sleeping, bring earplugs.

This house is very deceiving from the outside but lovely inside. It is located minutes away from all the wonderful local tourist sites. Our only complaint was the loud traffic so close to house making it difficult to sleep. Otherwise, it was perfect for our needs.

Easy, clean, nice, well stocked, responsive host. Itā€™s on Route 1, so if you canā€™t deal with traffic noise, this is not your place. Didnā€™t bother us. Big fenced in backyard that is great for little kids. One bathroom, but otherwise spacious. Would stay again.

Good home base

This property was convenient and perfect for us. It was very clean and comfortable; road noise could bother some but we found it easy enough to tune out. One smallish bathroom but everything else was good for a base from which tour the area.
