Wonderful overnight stay right off of I5. Very clean hotel. Our partial Columbia River view was better than expected. We enjoyed happy hour outside, plenty of firepits, lap blankets, and distance between guests, also the option of a heated outside tent. Our server recommended their prime rib dip special, and we ordered it from room service later. Very quick service, and delicious. The black and tan brownie with ice cream was also great. We explored the hotel floors, quirky art, found the secret rooms (shh, there’s actually three 🙌), bought our passport and got stamped, and perused the gift shop. Enjoyed the regular trains going by, but there wasn’t any problems with the noise from them or the freeway. There’s a walking path along the river, only wish we had more time to explore it. The only complaint I would have is the prices in the gift shop, would have bought wine and whiskey, plus other souvenirs, but they were all so expensive. We did pickup a few canned ciders and IPA’s. Never made it to Ahles Cabin but there is a wonderful coffee shop nearby with artwork for sale. All in all, a really fun stop. I’d stay here again and recommend it to friends. Seems as though it’s best for two people. Also, there are tvs in the room, which doesn’t seem to be for other McM’s locations.
