LOVED being at this property with my kids! Location is perfect. We beach hopped, ate local and walked for miles at sunrise. Absolutely perfect. Some other reviews mentioned the bathroom downstairs at the pool. It worked perfect for us - as I had that as my private master bathroom while the kids shared the unit bathroom. Really clean, beds comfy, had all we needed - and beach toys were a bonus! Thanks so much! Will return!!

Nice beachside stay

We enjoyed our time in the Kukui House. The location is perfect as its walking distance to the beach, the market, and very close to town. We were comfortable and had fun using the pool, bikes, and barbecue.

Great location

The owners were very nice and offered to help with anything we needed, but I didnā€™t want to bother them. Manager was prompt with replies. The place itself was pretty small and the kitchen basically fits one person (also can barely open the dishwasher because it is so close to the fridge) Could use new dishes because most were chipped. Better directions as to where to turn on the hot tub would have been helpful. Otherwise good but seems a bit expensive. My sister had a bigger place just down the beach for about 1200 less for the week. Again, owners seemed like lovely people:)

Great location!

The location is unbeatable: short walk to the best beach! Beds are comfortable. We probably missed the description that the second bathroom is downstairs, outside the unit, but it wasn't a big issue for us. We had a great stay.

The location was excellent and the unit was comfortable. We were disappointed as five adults to find that there were not really enough beds to accommodate us. One double bed, two singles, and sheets to cover a couch. Enjoyed our stay.

Perfect rental in Kailua

Loved the house and location. I booked it in a hurry and without reading the specifics knowing that options were limited and we were visiting friends nearby. I couldn't believe my dumb luck when we arrived and realized how perfect the location was which is right across from a sandy and picturesque beach and walking distance to snorkeling, swimming and the Lanikai Pillbox Trail. Having been to the various islands of Hawaii 15-20 times we had avoded Oahu until this trip thinking the whole island would be like Wikiki. We were totally wrong. Love Oahu and this property and can't wait to come back.

Lovely getaway

Our stay was wonderful. The location was perfect. Nice amenities and kitchen/bathrooms had xtra supplies needed for our stay. Truly a gem in Kailua. Easy access to the beach and stores. Right across the road from a beautiful beach.

The location was great. It was very quit and the grounds were beautiful. The description was not clear, it did have two bedrooms (1 was very small) and it listed two bathrooms, only one was in the unit. The other was downstairs by the pool. Also the kitchen was not stocked well, especially glasses. We did have a great time and again the location was wonderful.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful stay! The condo was clean, well equipped and in a fantastic location. Just across the street from Kailua beach and a short walk from a beautiful hike to the pillboxes overlooking Lanakai. We couldn't have hoped for a better location! The condo was comfortable - the sheets were soft and there were was plenty of sitting areas in the family room.The lanai provided a nice additional space to sit outside. The garage had everything we needed for spending time at the beach - chairs, umbrellas, coolers, etc and was just so nice to be able to grab what we needed to walk a couple of minutes to a gorgeous beach. Zak was very responsive to our requests and we felt right at home. We can't wait to return!

Wohnung mit wenig PrivatsphƤre

Das Haus hat eine Top Lage am Strand. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett, Check-In war super. Wir waren zwei Stunden zu frĆ¼h da und konnten trotzdem schon in die Wohnung. Die Wohnung selbst hat nicht ganz unseren Vorstellungen entsprochen. Das Foto in der Annonce impliziert, dass es eine Terrasse gibt, die zur Wohnung gehƶrt. TatsƤchlich ist das mehr ein Durchgang, denn die Nachbarinnen mussten Ć¼ber diese Terrasse gehen, um zu ihrer eigenen Wohnung zu gelangen. Dies war auf unserer langen Reise die einzige Unterkunft, in der wir keinen privaten Bereich im Freien hatten. Noch mehr hat uns allerdings gestƶrt, dass unser zweites Badezimmer im Erdgeschoss lag, was nirgends in der Beschreibung zu finden war. Es ist nur Ć¼ber eine Treppe im Freien erreichbar und theoretisch fĆ¼r alle GƤste des Hauses frei zugƤnglich. Wenn wir in dieses Badezimmer wollten, mussten wir an den GƤsten beim Pool vorbei, kein angenehmer Zustand. Das Badezimmer in der Wohnung selbst war fĆ¼r vier Erwachsene zu klein. AuƟerdem befanden sich im KĆ¼hlschrank Lebensmittel von GƤsten vor uns. Im Prinzip ist das okay, aber es handelte sich um bereits geƶffnete Butter und eingetrockneten KƤse. Die vielen Flaschen mit diversen Saucen haben wir nicht nƤher inspiziert. Alles in allem okay. Das Foto

Amazing rental

We stayed here for 5 days and it was incredible. The house was just as described and was within walking distance of a beautiful, quiet beach as well as several places to eat. The property owners were lovely, the pool was a perfect place to unwind, and the fridge/pantry even had some things for us to use (e.g., seasonings). When we come back (the trip was that incredible), we will absolutely stay here again.

Perfect Location

Beautiful beach a stones throw away and just a short walk to Buzz's Streakhouse which I highly recommend. Lanikia beach is just a 10 min walk up the road. The garden around the pool was amazing and the homeowners were extremely nice and responsive if we needed anything. No street noise, the only thing you hear are the birds singing.

We loved being able to walk across the street to Kailua Beach or walk to Island Snow for shave ice. It was a safe area and the owners were great. They have some fins to borrow for snorkeling, beach chairs, and coolers to use which was so nice.

Kailua Stay

We were visiting Oahu for 2 family weddings and found this wonderful oasis. The owners couldnā€™t have been nicer or more attentive to our needs. The location is excellent, right across the street from Kailua Beach Park. If you have plans to stay on the Windward side of Oahu, we highly recommend this property.

An awesome place right across the street from Kailua Beach. Parking in the carport was tricky but the rest of the property was perfect for us. The beds are super comfortable. The whole unit was so cute and lovely. We ran into Steve and Susie and they couldn't have been sweeter! Great place and great time!!

So-so

We did not stay here after checking in. The good: super responsive host and beautiful pool. The unexpected: property was hard to find and exteriors were unkempt. Turns out there appear to be many people living on site and it shows. We did not find the property inviting or welcoming. My wife did not feel safe here. The bad: listing photos are way out of date- all furnishings are tired and need deep cleaning. The unit had been wiped down but everything about the unit itself showed wear and tear of many visitors- lots of ew factors on the cushions and floor, the unit smelled heavily of mold, shower curtain moldy, windows not cleaned and more. Cumulatively it was too much. The really unexpected: the host disagreed with us and wanted to clean the unit up. However, there were too many items needing attention, for which a remedy would be disruptive to our five-day stay. We immediately brought this to the owner and VRBO attention and informed both that we would not stay there and they could release it for someone else if they chose. The host told us they could not issue any refund because the unit was booked throughout our stay. Adding to the dilemma: After two days of fruitless negotiating with VRBO for assistance in finding a different place to stay and releasing the unit so the host could re-rent if they wanted (VRBO would not), we were on our own.
