Lake Forest Lodge has a breathtaking view of Keuka Lake and is nestled on 3.5 acres of pines and hardwoods. This property has the best of both worlds as it also has lake frontage. The cabin has 3 levels: the main floor has a great room with gas fireplace, cozy eat-in kitchen, and spacious dining room that seats 10 comfortably. These rooms face the lake and boast an amazing view of Keuka Lake. Also located on the main level are 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. The lower level includes a sitting area with full size sleeper sofa, a bedroom, a full bath, spare fridge and washer and dryer. The third floor open loft has a charming log-framed bed. There are several large decks for relaxation and gathering for meals with family and friends in a private setting. LFL is located on the hillside across the road from the lake, which provides secluded and peaceful surroundings. Note: The lake frontage is accessed by walking or driving down our 'steep' driveway, crossing the road and continuing down the common/steep driveway where we have available 2 parking spaces. Approximately 50 stairs will lead you to the scenic deck and private dock.

Other Activities Around the Area: Enjoy a variety of restaurants on and around the lake or in the charming Village of Hammondsport. Experience the Finger Lake's finest wines along the renowned Keuka Wine Trail. Stroll along the waterfront and square of Hammondsport while enjoying ice cream. Browse through the antique and gift shops. Take a ride to The Windmill Farm & Craft Market or visit the Indian Pines Farmer's Market for homemade pies, pastries, jellies, fruits and veggies. Watkins Glen Raceway and State Park are approximately 30 minutes away. Take the kids go-cart racing, hiking or biking on the local trails. Watercraft rentals are available at the local marinas.

Not lakefront

Definitely not a lake front property. Lake access and dock was down the awful driveway, across a road and down another drivewayā€¦then down stairs that were messy and overgrown by bushes. The dock needed care. Nails sticking up, kayaks were extremely dirty and a mouse was in one of them. It was a lot with 3 younger children. The inside of the house was clean but the deck was messy and could use a power wash along with patio furniture. Weeds were overgrown everywhere, including fire pit. Porch roof leaked. The upstairs loft bedroom was extremely hot even with the ac on. The living room and skeeball were great. The bathroom had a problem but it was fixed quickly. The grill was missing steel heat plates, so you had to put foil down or everything would catch on fire.

We stayed for a long weekend on the lake for a bachelorette trip. Loved the lake access, the large windows, and the ski ball machine! The house was super cozy and air conditioning was very easy to control. We used each bed and everyone had a great stay. Smart TVs were very nice to have as well. The driveway was very steep, tough to pull car up or walk up with the potholes, but wouldnā€™t stop me from staying here. Great views of the lake and the porch furniture was perfect for dinners outside. Overall, we would stay here again if visiting the area!

Awesome bachelorette weekend

Booked this place for a bachelorette party since it had a lot of rooms, a good location, and a reasonable price. The cabin was charming and clean. The kitchen was well-stocked with coffee machine, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. The location was convenient - close to the village of Hammondsport and a lot of wineries. Beware, the driveway is very steep. The cabin is not directly on the water but across the street. There was dock access with kayaks that we definitely would have used if the weather was nicer. Owner was communicative. He even left us a champagne bottle for our stay, which was super sweet!

Mixed bag

Although the host, Brian, was very pleasant and responsive, the property was far less than luxury. It did have a stellar lake view and large porch. Upon arrival there was obvious signs of mice in the living room including feces and bundles of hair. We cleaned up and Brian immediately made an appointment with an exterminator. A few days later, mice feces on the counter and dining table, our 4 year old daughter picked up a dead mouse which was in the play/toy area surrounded in blood. We informed Brian and he agreed to refund us for the portion of our trip that we chose not to stay.Even though our family vacation was cut short and overall ruined, I would have liked to seen more than a daily prorated refund but that is not what was provided.The great room was pretty cool and the kids LOVED the ski ball. Other than that, the condition of everything outside was in need of repair or cleaning. The grill was filled with grease and leaves from what appeared to be last season/winter. The main security gate on the deck would not close which made us a bit nervous with the little ones. The driveway to get up to the property is extremely steep and difficult to navigate by foot or in car. Lots of dangerous potholes. I do think that Brian is a pleasant host but the property does not live up to the standards as advertised. Maybe with a lot of attention to the property, it could be back to a desirable condition. Give it a chance after problems are all taken care of.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was an almost perfect late fall weekend and just loved being able to watch the sunrise from the comfort of our living room. Everything was as stated in the description. Having a heavy duty crew cab pickup presented an interesting endeavor getting turned around šŸ˜†, the driveway was very steep and not a ton of room. I managed. Skee Ball was a huge hit. Didnā€™t explore the dock since it was the last weekend of October. Would definitely consider staying there in the future. The host, Brian, was very responsive to questions.

Wine weekend

House was gorgeous and very clean. The only part that was a problem was the driveway. It is very steep and with the rocks on it it made it difficult to drive up and down it. Other than that it was perfect for our stay.

Awesome Place!

We had a great time enjoying our yearly family get together here. This cabin is huge and has a ton of charm and character. Keuka lake is beautiful as always. Brian was diligent and provided all the info we needed to make our stay memorable. We highly recommend staying here.

Gorgeous property, amazing family get away

We had such an amazing and relaxing week here (I say this while traveling with 3 teenagers) . The house had plenty of room and everything we needed. The property was absolutely gorgeous, very private and relaxing. There was plenty to do between the wineries (Bully Hill being our favorite and only 10 minutes away), kayaking, swimming and snorkeling (very clear waters), and hiking. The kids had great luck fishing right off the dock and really loved the skee ball machine. There was one day when it rained alot but we didn't mind because the huge living room comfortably fit us all for a movie day. Plus the rain made the waterfall on the property really come alive. Once the rain stopped, we sat on the deck watching and listening to it while eating dinner. The host, Brian, also checked in on us when the weather was bad that day and throughout the whole stay was always available for questions. We take a family vacation every year and I have to say this was one of our favorites... we have people from 15-80 years old and it had something for everyone to enjoy.

Play Hard and Recharge

We rented a pontoon boat and tube which we kept docked at the private dock all week. Had so much fun exploring the lake and tubing every day. The views from the house are spectacular and we were able to catch a sunrise from the dock as well. LOVED this property so much - thank you!!

Keuka Lake, solstice and heat dome vacation.

What a perfect place to be during a heat wave! The enormous deck is such a jewel of this property and was utilized in so many ways: coffee at the bar, Yahtzee tournaments and scrapbooking at the tables, full moon gazing, huge lake floatie command station, etc. The living room was perfect for whole group movie nights and HGTV marathons for the lazy mornings. The deck on the lake with the provided kayaks were so much fun and refreshing! Keuka lake is not really that busy with boaters and such, so if you're looking for some serenity, you can find it there. The driveway was scary the first time going up with a fully packed mini van, but after that, we got the hang of it. The surrounding towns of Hammondsport, Penn Yan, Watkins Glen etc. all seemed to close up shop pretty early (restaurants closing at 7, 8 and 9 pm) , so I recommend checking closing times when making your plans for the day. If you have kids, or even if you don't, I recommend Castel Grisch winery in Watkins Glen because it has dinosaurs. The owner is super nice and responded to emails/texts almost immediately. We had the best time.

The views from the deck are amazing and two days out of the week there were rainbows across the lake. It was a very relaxing visit and the towns people are friendly and helpful in pointing you in the right directions for your needs. Would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone that needs a getaway.

Fabulous fall weekend

This house was perfect for the 4 couples in our group. Enjoyed the view, fireplace and deck. Wonderful dinner around the huge table! Another great meal at the nearby Waterfront restaurant. So close to wineries, breweries and distilleries on beautiful Keuka Lake!
