Perfect for a family getaway with the kids and dogs

Island Cove was perfect for our family vacation. The house fit the six of us (plus two infants and two dogs) comfortably, and everyone loved spending time at the beach, on the pontoon boat, and playing yard games. The check in and check out procedures were simple. It's so rare to find a place like this that ticks all the boxes - great location, easy rental experience, plenty of amenities, and the ability to bring the dogs along for the fun! We'll definitely rent again.

Amazing place

We had such a wonderful time staying here. The views are splendid, the home is very well furnished and super comfortable. Throughout the house there are tons of windows that allowed us to appreciate the views of the water on all sides. There was more than enough room in the house for me and my wife, our theee boys, and our dog. Our parents came to visit in the weekend and had their own room. The three boys each got their own bed in the upstairs room above the garage. We used the grill outside and it worked perfectly. We used the outside fire pit down by the water several times and it was great with very nice chairs to sit in. The property manager was very nice and helpful and we had great communication with them throughout our stay if there was anything we needed. While in one of the nicest lakes in Hale, itā€™s very close to several restaurants which we enjoyed every one of them. We look forward to staying again here next year.

We had 8 people stay with decent comfort. The only real issues were the AC upstairs not being very effective, though it didn't really matter because we were on the lake most of the day and it cooled down nicely at night.

Perfect family getaway

My family and I had a wonderful time at Island Cove. There were 7 adults and 6 kids ranging from 1-11 years old. There was plenty to do for every age. We enjoyed the pontoon, kayaking, paddle boarding, playing in the sand on the beach, bonfire by the water, grilling, amazing views of the lake, running around in the yard, drinks at the tiki bar, and so much more. The shed was stocked with beach toys, life jackets, and fishing poles. The beach had a shallow area for the little ones to play in the water. The bigger kids had a blast kayaking and paddle boarding. The pontoon was perfect to cruise around the lake and we easily found a sand bar to hang out. Communication with the owner/manager was easy and he was always quick to respond if we had questions. Plenty of space for everyone. My only suggestion is to add blinds in the living room/kitchen and in the upstairs loft. It can get pretty hot in those areas when the sun sets and blinds would help prevent the house from heating up. We had one rainy day and so we went to a local bowling alley until it cleared up - tons of fun there too! We would definitely come back because we had an amazing time and loved the property and house. It was stocked with everything we needed. Thank you for the wonderful memories!!

We had a great time at this property. Our kids swam, fished, kayaked, and had sā€™mores around the campfire. Boat rental was a nice bonus. Was a great place to make memories.

Nice get away on Sage Lake

We traveled with my family (2 adults, 3 kids aged 6,3, and 6 months) and two other couples and stayed for a week in June 2022. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Island Cove. The house was very clean and had pretty much everything you need. We spent a lot of time on the beach with the kids, around the fire pit, using the kayaks and other yard games, and especially the pontoon boat. The boat was awesome! We packed snacks and lunches and spent a large portion of the day on the water. We anchored and fished, swam, and just enjoyed the sun. The house isn't as private as it seems as parking for the other property is with this house. As common with most houses in N MI, there is no central air but a few window air units; however because of all the windows and no blinds or shades, the house, especially the upstairs gets very warm on hot days. Even with the AC units running, the upstairs was 85. The washer and dryer were a chore to use, wouldn't start and then didn't spin all the water out, so we just went to the laundry mat. Minor detail but the coffee maker is slow - we had 6 adults so we had to make two pots every day. Check in was easy and any maintenance or housekeeping staff we saw were very friendly. Go to Alwards market and get their bacon, delicious! Crusins Corner Store has ice cream and we'd highly recommend going out to eat at Cedar Tavern and Grill. Large portions, really good food, and everyone was very friendly.

Great place and even greater host!

Overall our stay at Island Cove was phenomenal. The house was very clean and had fantastic amenities for a weekend away on the lake. On top of all of that Joseph was very accommodating as a host, both helping my spouse to leave a surprise gift basket there for me when I arrived as well as helping to ship some items we accidentally left behind back to us. Overall would highly recommend staying at Island Cove!

Perfectly Peaceful

This far exceeded our expectations. The views are breathtaking, the house is beautifully updated and decorated so cute that you feel right at home the minute you walk in the door. The check in and check out process was exceptional. It was nicely stocked and clean upon our arrival and the beds were nice and comfy. We had a fun bonfire, watched movies and played card games making it the perfect family weekend getaway.

The pictures of this property donā€™t do it justice. The lake was perfect, clear and like bath water. The frontage and sandy beach was great and provided beautiful scenery with a fantastic fire pit for sā€™mores and family gatherings. Star gazing was incredible!! We really enjoyed all the amenities especially the kids. The kayaks and stand up paddle boards were a hit and used several times a day. We loved having access to the pontoon boat for fishing and swimming. It was also super easy to launch and land the boat for novice captains. As for space inside, We had 12 and had plenty of room for everyone to sleep, with a couple blow up beds. We cooked big meals in the kitchen, grilled and had a nice space to prepare all the meals. Also, the bathrooms were updated and clean. This space was perfect for making some great memories. Thank you to the owner for allowing us to rent such a special place. Stay here once and you will want to buy a boat and live the ā€œLake Lifeā€

amazing getaway

What an amazing little house! We had 7 couples come up for our 40th birthdays, and had the best time! We absolutely loved the house, water front, boat, paddle boat, water toys, tiki hut and everything there was! Owner was easy to communicate and the house was very easy to get to and very clean! Tons of room inside and outside. We had the best time, and will for sure be back!

Beautiful vacation rental

This rental checked all the boxes for my family. The house is roomy and clean, nice updated kitchen and baths. Spectacular views of the lake with many large windows throughout. The patio and tiki bar are awesome, we used the tiki bar everyday to have lunch and drinks and catch shade for a few, it provided a tropical vacation feel! The beach is breathtaking and it was perfect shallow swimming for the little ones, but could not go out too deep due to weeds. The boat rental worked out well, itā€™s a beautiful large lake and good fishing too! Overall, this rental exceeded our expectations and we have an awesome family vacation!

Nice property

Nice house, amazing property and location. The property manager Joe was great to communicate with. The house was pretty clean, but all of the dishes needed to be rewashed. I would have washed them normally before using, but they werenā€™t clean to anyoneā€™s standards. Overall, I would stay here again. It was a very nice and relaxing long weekend.

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time at this property for our annual family vacation. We had 8 adults, 5 kids with 1 being a 6 month old. There was plenty for everyone to do from boating, kayaking, stand up paddle boards and paddle boating. The property was clean and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The only downfall we had is the majority of the beds were upstairs with only one bathroom while the master suite is downstairs. To access the master bathroom you had to go through the bedroom, so it wasnā€™t always convenient. That did not stop us from having a wonderful time!

Enjoyed our stay.

The location was great. The house was all they said in the listing. Joe, the manager was great to work with. However, linens and dishes were a bit short. The cleaning leaves a bit to be desired. The stove needed to be scrubbed, in the master bedroom there was a hair scrunchy in plan sight laying under the bed and there was an empty Body Amour bottle part way under the hide a bed in the upstairs bedroom.
