BLISSFUL, no crowds no drama

You can tell there was much damage from the hurricane. It'll take awhile to get everything back to normal. So sad to see the destruction. But for 5 days we played!!We fished and chilled on the dock. In the afternoon we'd go across the street to the beach and watch the sunset. Great views, cute house enjoyed our stay thoroughly. drop off the dogs after their ride.

Quiet and cozy

We had a great trip. We frequently visit Englewood. It was our first time bringing our senior pooch. He did better than expected and looked forward to daily walks on the beach. He also enjoyed hanging on the dock with me while fishing. We made lots of memories!!! We especially appreciate the accommodations made for us to check out later. Hopefully, this place will be available when we plan to visit Englewood soon.

Great Location

The property is located across the street from the beach. We stayed on August. The ocean water was warm. We had the beach to ourselves most days. The house was clean and had everything we needed. I did look at reviews before my stay and I followed advise to bring a fan for sleeping. The house is old and has window unit ac, this was not a problem for us. We were out of the house most of the day and the house was cool enough for us in the evening. I did use the gas grill and everything works perfect. The host was quick to answer all my questions. There were no problems during my stay. I will stay here again.

Old Florida/ Cozy Cottage

Had a great stay. Everything was clean and set up nicely. Thank you for allowing Pets. Description is very accurate. I do recommend bringing Fans!!!! AC does have trouble keeping up with the Midday Heat. But very comfortable in the evening. We will be back.

It was perfect for us!

The house and property were all we had hoped they would be! We loved the older, retro cottage, it reminded us of old Florida homes like when we grew up. I much prefer this cozy cottge to the large homes close by. The location and grounds were wonderful, plenty of beach towels and chairs provided. We will be back!

Cute cottage with great access to the beach and private dock!

House had everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay! We fished off the dock and beach, while our pups got to play in the sand and ocean. Collected a bunch of shells, shark's teeth and enjoyed the amazing sunsets. Our host was easy to communicate with and answered any questions I had in a timely manner. House is older, but adorable - very functional with decent space. Coming over from the busy East Coast of FL this was a hidden gem and I cannot wait to come back!

Great place

I actually dont want to tell you how convenient, quaint, quiet, and cozy it was... I'd rather it be available for my next getaway, lol. Beach access was right across the street. Path to the dock, lead right to it. Beautiful Bayview. Super quiet and very relaxing.

Manasota Key cottage

The cottage is very old and it had some maintenance issues but nothing that spoiled our stay. It is located on the quiet side of the island, which we prefer. It was an easy drive to the restaurants. The short walks to the beach or bay were easy and convenient. The beach was beautiful and the cottage had plenty of chairs, towels, and a beach umbrella to use, which made it nice. We took our bikes thinking it would be fun to ride to the south end of the island but the road has too many blind spots and is very narrow for our bike riding comfort level so we decided not to try that. We wanted somewhere we could take our dog and have a nice weekend away and we successfully did that here.

Comfortable cottage

We had a very relaxing stay. The property might be best described as Great Gran and Pap's vacation home. It could use a little bit of lovin' on the inside in regards to repairs and upkeep, however, it has the cozy and nostalgic feeling of vacations from simpler times. The kitchen is super tiny but stocked with better quality items in the cabinets than we normally see. The beach is very quiet and safe. We set up on the beach in the morning and would go back to the house for meals and bring our things back in at sunset. We hope to return someday.

Delightful and Peaceful

My husband, 4 year old, and I enjoyed a delightful weekend trip to the cottage. The accommodation was perfect for us and the access to such a pristine beach was priceless. The guys enjoyed the private dock in the waterway and the fishing opportunity it provided, even for a little guy with a Zebco. The kitchen was great, though on the small side, because everything is within reach and if you like cooking by yourself itā€™s perfect. Though some aspects are dated I personally enjoyed the champion of a 1950s washing machine that works better than my 2024 model. Our interaction with the owner was pleasant and prompt. This cottage is a hidden gem and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Lovely Location

This house has fun access to a dock on the bay and a walkway to the Gulf beach. It is located in a lovely area with great beaches and lovely homes. It is fairly close to grocery store and a good variety of restaurants. The kitchen is very small and not well suited/equipped for making large meals, but is ok for breakfast and lunch. The house is older and has a bit of a musty smell and you need to bring all that you need in terms of toilet paper and toiletries.

Very quiet and peaceful!

Totally enjoy our stay! Peaceful most of the time. Only had a couple issues but, spoke with owner who came to oversee the goings. Will most likely use this house again. The beach was very private and we found well over a 100 sharks teeth on the beach. Seen Red bearded iguana and a komodo dragon.So if you love nature this is your place.

Cute beach cottage

The cottage was built in the 50ā€™s. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is simple with a stove, refrigerator and sink. A microwave had been provided. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware. Towels and linens were provided. The hosts were very responsive. They have now posted the address numbers on the house and at the road. Also, the path to the pier on the waterway side of the house has been cleared. The path to the beach is across the street slightly to the right between 2 houses. Overall, we spent a wonderful relaxing time at the cottage.

Florida getaway

Pro: Great location with easy beach access. It was like having a private beach. Close to restaurants, shopping, Venice and Englewood. Able to get last minute. I would use again for location! Con: We drove by 3 times before we found it. No street markers. Ad Claims a dock on the intercostal but we couldnā€™t find it. Rustic. No microwave, dishwasher or garbage disposal. A few upgrades and it would be perfect.

Old 1930ā€™s Florida cottage

Much needed improvements and updates for this lovely private location including house numbers both on the streets multi unit mailbox and the house. Both for locating it and emergency vehicles to find it. King size bed and matching king size pillows were comfy. Would have likes a microwave & blender . Kitchen & both baths needs updating.

Quaint Beach Cottage

I would stay here again. 2 small negatives, but a ton of positives. Overall cleanliness was great, but when we pulled out the futon we found a collection of pet hair (we had our pup with us as well, but the previous guest must have had a real shedder) - this wasnā€™t a huge deal. This is an old beach house, and all of these old homes have some quirks. The power would go out if we had a certain lamp on and eventually we learned how to get it to reset (buy turning the heat on and then off - donā€™t ask me why this worked). The AC units are window units. I love it cold at night and will bring an oscillating fan with me on future visits. The house was PERFECT for my family of four. We had plenty of space to relax, play board games, eat, etc. Having two full bathrooms was a welcome PLUSā€¦ and the kitchen was well equipped. There is a very short walk to the private beach (we saw maybe 4 people all day). We did look for the dock, but couldnā€™t find a path to it. Manasota Key is ADORABLE old school Florida! We thought Lock and Key was tasty for dinner (maybe a little over priced). Weā€™ll be back!
