We had a duplex room, plenty of space and had everything we needed. Breakfast overlooking the vines was excellent.

Good quiet place to rest and relax. Only minus are the beds, not comfortable at all! They could do with a mattress topper! Other than that, I give a 5 star for everything else.

Eine beeindruckende Unterkunft in einem historischen Landgut. Sehr gepflegte, schöne Außenanlagen. Das Sklavenhaus, in dem unsere Maisonette Unterkunft war, ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Dafür war sie auf zwei Ebenen sehr geräumig. Insgesamt aber etwas zu teuer. Das Badezimmer hat schon viele Jahre hinter sich und einige Macken. Die Lichtschalter und Steckdosen waren alle etwas versteckt. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich, die Massagen suchen ihresgleichen genauso wie das Restaurant mit seinem fantastischen Ausblick und ausgezeichneten Speisen. Alles in allem aber ein Erlebnis auf unserem Südafrika-Trip, das wir nicht missen möchten.

We stayed in a duplex room, with a comfy lounge and toilet downstairs, and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Lovely touches including coffee machine and tea making facilities, lovely biscuits, water daily and turn down service. Some of the furniture could do with upgrading (wardrobes) and bathroom could do with updating. Breakfast was lovely but service slow. However overall lovely stay and would return.

Seventh visit and always a great experience. Staff were excellent in re-rooming us when the initial room wasn’t getting adequate light. Some modernization still required with some low level work being done on installing solar panels, so will be great to see the finished article once complete. Will certainly be back once again.

Beautiful room and surrounding gardens. Needs some investment and training in high end customer service. This is a lovely hotel , just has lost some of its sparkle.

Beautiful location
The location is spectacular and the manor house restaurant area and gardens are beautiful. The staff are very friendly but the service at breakfast was slow and unpredictable. The food was good, but you would wait for someone to just take your drinks order. The food also takes quite some time so make sure you are taking a leisurely breakfast.

The Grande experience
We enjoyed our stay at Grande Roche just a few tips, rooms were a bit lacking probably needs a refurbishment, towels were in need of replacement, single bed charge should probably be disclosed upfront and not at check out, we also felt that the extra charge for single beds was rather heavy, restaurant service was not up to standard, food took long and waiters were not well trained and we struggled to get towels at the pool when we went for a swim.

We had a great Christmas Eve here. Fantastic beautiful hotel with great staff in the most beautiful surroundings. Luxurious cabins in the old park surrounding the old historic main buildings. Highly recomended!

A magnificent midweek break.
We had a grand stay at a Grande Olde Lady. The staff were excellent, friendly and well trained. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was top notch and the restaurant were happy to accommodate special requests. Great attention to detail in every way. Well worth the visit and we shall certainly return.

Delightful hotel. Quirky comfortable rooms. Helpful staff. Easy commute to the winelands but need a car. Would recommend this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay.

Beautiful settings, enchanting grounds, cordial staff, serene for a weekend getaway. Our room was clean, big enough - sitting room, bedroom, double sink bathroom - and quite private lodging. Loved it. Sporadic power outages are okay. Thank you!

Sehr nette hilfsbereite Angestellte. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit toller Ausstattung und renoviertem, sehr modernem Bad. Die Anlage ist sehr schön angelegt. Einzig das Frühstücksbuffet am 2. Tag war für ein 5 Sterne Haus etwas dürftig in der Auswahl. Am 1. Tag gab es aufgrund der niedrigen Auslastung kein Buffet, man konnte a la carte bestellen und es war lecker.

The little details that makes a stay so special. The staff were very attentative without being overbearing. Had my 65 birthday there and definitely will remember my stay.

Der Abfluss in der Duschkabine war verstopft, das ganze Badezimmer war überschwemmt. Auch nach der „Reparatur“ war er weiterhin verstopft. Das Mobiliar im Zimmer war veraltet und teilweise beschädigt. Für ein 5 Sterne Hotel gab es nur Ausblick zu den Nachbarn ins Zimmer. Der Service am Abend war langsam, unkoordiniert und schien überfordert. Man fühlte sich als Gast in die Ecke abgestellt. Wir waren auf Hochzeitsreise. Wir haben dies am zweiten Tag explizit erwähnt, es kam keine Reaktion. Das Gesamtpaket ist so keine 5 Sterne wert, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht.

The hotel is a little tired and outdated. It could be grand, it is well-located with beautiful views, but requires investment (bathrooms) and management attention. The restaurant was probably the least interesting we encountered on our 2½ weeks in South Africa. Meals overcooked, and uninspiring.

Two nights in Paarl
The hotel 's public rooms and areas have great charm and character. The suite was very spacious but tired and in need of refurbishment. The staff team is fantastic - welcoming, helpful, cheerful and willing. Breakfast offered both buffet and al a carte options. Dinner was excellent. Easy to walk into town but hotel offer a shuttle service that operates day and evenings.

Excellent choice for Hotel in Paarl.
I recently enjoyed a long stay at Grande Roche Hotel in Paarl, South Africa. This hotel sits up on hill overlooking the valley, and among the wine vineyards of the property. My room was extremely comfortable, with a King sized bed, a living room, and master bathroom. Housekeeping, Grounds keeping, and especially Hotel Staff were excellent. Friendly, accommodating, professional. Dinning room was beautiful, Food quality was excellent, but the menu was limited (same menus for lunch and Dinner). Wine menu was expansive and high quality. Location was ideal. Within walking distance of old Paarl (10 to 12 city blocks), or just a few minutes drive to all parts Paarl.

エアコンの故障でルームチェンジしたが、何故かダウングレードの部屋。クレームは出したが夕食後で遅かったのでその部屋で寝ました。こういう時はアップグレードでしょう

Sublime Old World Luxury
Grand Roche hotel is definitely grand. Don't be fooled by looking at the location on a map - this is a tranquil, countryside retreat with absolutely outstanding views (see pics). It is nestled between the main road of Paarl and Paarl National Park. The hotel is set amidst vineyards and finely manicured gardens, has two pools and a small, basic gym. Breakfast is a treat with champagne and oysters on offer daily and a chef on hand to cook your preferred dish. We didn't eat in the restaurant as it was VERY quiet but there are numerous other great options within a short walk. Hotel room was quaint and self contained with fast wifi and large, luxurious bathroom. Highly recommend driving up to Paarl national park and getting off the beaten track, we didn't see anyone for 4 hours once getting off the main trail. This hotel is a gem and definitely worth staying for a couple of nights relaxed getaway.
