Fantastic spot to visit, views are just breathtaking and your hoists are so helpful and welcoming... we highly recommend.

Owner had forgotten to disable bookings for the lodge while they were overseas and the lodge was unavailable. It was very last minute but thankfully we were able to organise alternative accommodation.
Matakana is a beautiful place to visit.

We were so sorry for this error which we are now investigating. We had definitely turned off Expedia bookings with our Channel Manager with the clear belief that therefore no bookings could be generated. We are pleased you were able to get alternative accommodation and enjoyed the area.

Vantagens: It’s position, beautiful views and overall quality.
Localização: Sugar Loaf Lodge is just a short drive from Matakana village, restaurants and everything the area has to offer
We spent a relaxing couple of days at Sugar Loaf Lodge, the views from our room were stunning, rolling countryside with Omaha beach in the distance. Dianne and Rob were great hosts, friendly and helpful with advice about what to see and do in the local area. Our accommodation was spacious and very comfortable, breakfast in the sunroom with local bread and honey etc. was a nice addition as was the wine and cheese brought to our room later in the day.

Sugarloaf Lodge lives up to its name...

Vantagens: The hosts were fabulous.
Desvantagens: Everything was great even when the weather wasn't perfect.
Localização: So much to do. We are looking forward to returning!
A marvellous setting, clean, comfortable room, delicious breakfast, fabulous platters and wine, wonderful and warm service.

LOVELY B & B IN MATAKANA

As there were only two rooms which were detached from the main house it was very private. The accommodation was beautiful, clean and had a nice view towards Omaha. We dined at MMK (Matakana Market Kitchen) which was below the Cinema. The mains were lovely but wasn't too wrapped about the desert we shared as it was far too sweet in fact we didn't eat it. Anyway back to the accommodation for a blissful sleep and the breakfast was very lovely started with fresh fruit salad and bread and pastries with nice coffee. The hosts were very nice to talk to. We would definitely stay again.

Restful room with a view

Vantagens: The view from our room was beautiful. Dianne and Robin were thoughtful but not intrusive hosts. Everything was tastefully done.
Localização: There is plenty to do -- the Matakana Farmers Market, Morris and James Pottery and other artists' galleries, Brick Bay vineyards, Plume restaurant etc
Located a short drive from Matakana and Omaha Beach, Sugarloaf Lodge was perfect for a relaxing weekend north of Auckland. We were a little early but were welcomed none-the-less. My husband had slipped and hurt himself but DIanne was calm and professional, organising the first aid kit and making sure we were settled in with everything we needed.
