We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we were made feel very welcome and our every need was catered for. Both Richard and Joseph were Amazing!! Looking forward to our return visit. Paul and Laura.

Lovely and special place. Beautiful art nouveau building and full of art work. Nice touch to have some single malt whiskey in the rooms.

I was taken aback by how quiet the surrounding area was. The only noises you could hear, were the sheep and an occassional car going by. Kate and Emma were amazing on ensuring that everything was running according to plan. The food was very tasty and it was nice to interact with other guests during the meals. We met people from all around the world. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Can't wait to visit again!

Lovely staff, disappointing accommodation

To start with a positive the staff are really lovely. So friendly and welcoming. They let us book in early and stay longer on the departing day as the road was closed. Which was extremely kind of them. The cooked breakfast was amazing. Generous portions and plenty hot coffee and fresh fruit. Nothing was a bother to them and they made us feel very welcome.
Unfortunately the hotel felt quite run down. Unusual musty smell in the lounge and the room we stayed in was very disappointing for the cost. Very dated furniture thats seen better days. The bed was comfortable but the frame must be from the 80's and worn looking. We had a View onto the roof which was disappointing as it was such a beautiful location. The main thing that repelled me was the huge stains on the carpet. I felt i needed to keep my shoes on. It was quite grubby and the stains were large. The bathroom was lovely and very clean, although both my husband and i almost fell while having a shower as the bath surface was so slippy. It would be dangerous for a child or older person i feel. The cost of the hotel is expensive. I dont mind paying when i feel its worth it but the accommodation was far from worth the price. The staff really were lovely though and went above and beyond with their customer service.

Dear Gwen - thank you for your review and I am so sorry that you were disappointed with our accommodation. The musty smell in the lunge is due to our fire smoking so much as we have discovered a birds nest on the chimney pot and now in the process of fixing that problem.Regarding your room - the room you were allocated should not have been in use but if I could call you on your mobile number I can explain fully and offer you some kind of recompense.

Nice quiet location. The staff were so helpful due to a local cycle race. They were very accommodating meeting our needs.
Room was well appointed and comfortable.

The manager went above and beyond to make mine and my wee boys stay wonderful. We had a brilliant stay and were made to feel welcome and cared for by all. I would highly recommend this hotel, it is beautiful. We will be back, thank you so much
